first, the show is called "Breaking Bad". It is the descent of one ordinary man into a villain. Remember Season One? "You can't just break bad". This show posits that you can. (Gus also likely followed a similar path as Walter).

By Season 5 I wanted more self-awareness from Walter as his family disintegrated. You can break bad, yes...and he did...but by Season 5 it felt like some self-reflection was needed after the craziness of Season 4. My critique is based out of fondness for the show...I wish Walter hadn't become so one dimensional - I wanted more inner-conflict. He's just an angry, self-absorbed brute who still feels cheated out of his glory. In essence, he's more immature than the original WW in the first season...maybe part of breaking bad is a one-way street into being a forever arse.

I think the fact you're with Walter the whole way until you realize he's not the guy you should be rooting for is pretty great. and it felt organic.

True and that explains why the show never lets us back in to rooting for him since Season 3 - we have that uh-oh moment...WW is now just a bad guy...but that road has been long enough...lets go back and flesh WW out again...right?

Also, to go against the grain... I like Skyler. Her complaints are well-grounded and perfectly legitimate.

I've said many times on this board, I've always liked her because nothing she has done outside of Season 1 and 2 control freak is outlandish...in fact, she has given far more leeway than Walter ever has. She has bended and changed and accommodated. Adults don't hate her...especially if you have or plan on having a family.

And I don't think I've ever seen a show use silence like this one does. So many great scenes are just simple facial movements.

Mad Men does this - and better IMO.

Look, I really like the show...I'm just really disappointed where it's at since Season 3. Because of that, yes...I did overrate it before.

So, you've watched every episode so far of a show you don't like? Brilliant.

Yea, it's like taking an empty bag of popcorn back to the concession stand and demanding a refund.

I'm in the middle of Season 1. Just started. Matter of fact, watched him meet up with Tuoco last night and blow his windows out.

His adrenaline ruse was nice.

I can't stand his retched, nagging arse wife. Can't stand her sister either.

I actually agree with this. He is an arse and he's also become utterly selfish and childish. All of his rationalizations at this point are just that.

However, the character who has grown and has become this show's moral compass is Jesse. Jesse is a fascinating character who has done some horrible things, but has always retained some basic human decency. In fact, it's his humanity that Walt exploits so effectively now, when previously he was his gateway to crime. Jesse has become a surrogate son, and more real than the actual family.

Like I said, I haven't seen this season, but S4 actually was a perfect endpoint. All that's left now is the Fall.

I'm not a huge fan of Mad Men, which just seems way to obsessed with its own stylishness. It's horrible, shallow people doing horrible, shallow things and then wondering why they aren't happy, like some sort of existential crisis. Sure, Walt's evil, but at least he's exciting evil.

This your third troll job I've seen and each one on a different board.

Bravo sir. That's one hell of a hat trick.

I've always enjoyed your posts, so I although I am tempted to retort, I will ignore this statement.

I'm late to reply, but you should not answer questions so arrogantly that weren't even posed to you.

I asked the OP for some details or at least some examples of something that he DOES like so that I can better understand why he wouldn't like this show.

It is universally praised. If someone writes a simple post stating "Pizza sucks"! Is it not OK to ask them what they do like or why?
