Favorite things about Bob's Burgers

I didn't even realize it until I was talking about shows with my friends, but this show has quite quickly become one of my favorite animated shows out there, easily over anything Seth MacFarlane has pumped out and what the Simpsons have become. But I couldn't quite put my finger on why so here's some of the factors we came up with.
-The show turns the Dumb Dad paradigm completely on it's head. Bob is the voice of reality, the straight man, the responsible one.... his wife is insane and his kids are nuts. Not to be a misogynist of anything, but that rings a lot truer than the dumb dad in most families I've met, happy and otherwise. (It's not the wife's fault either, she's the one being driven to madness taking care of kids and a house, the working dad has to attempt to stay sane as he's the one everyone is dependent on).
-A rare show about a lower class family living within their means, addressing how much that situation sucks and still having fun. I don't think I've really seen that since Roseanne.
-Guest voices are not by elite celebs, but genuine comedians. Let the Simpsons have J.K. Rowling, Paul McCartney, LeBron James and Lady Gaga... this show has the likes of Paul F. Tompkins, Thomas Lennon, Aziz Ansari and Jenny Slate.

Great point. That's what made the first few seasons of the Simpson's so good.

Tina is my favorite with her erotic fan fiction and her "unnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn"

Heard somewhere that only Louise is voiced by a woman. Rest of family are voiced by men.
Is that true?

I just started watching this year.
It is hard to see Bob with Archer's voice.
Although I actually still find it hard to hear Archer with the voice of Ben Katz.
Great show.

The guy who voices Tina really talks like that. He's a strange looking dude when he does his stand-up. Gene is hilarious. The guy who plays him is funny. His stand-up is much like the character. The show just has that certain "I dont know what" about it. I cant think of tons of specific hilarious moments, but always find myself cracking up.

I enjoy the show and this douchebag isn't involved. That's my favorite part.

When this show came out I thought "oh great, another shitty animated prime time show that will probably suck" so I've never seen it. But this thread has piqued my curiosity. How many seasons is it, would it be tough to catch all the way up from the beginning?

It started out rough, but after the first couple episodes it has been hilarious since.

I actually loved the first episode, heck one of the first scene between Bob, his kids and the new health inspector was hilarious.

This is gonna sound lame, but I like how the family members actually care about each other and show it.
They act like families actually act.
Way different from Family Guy, where everyone tries to outdouche one another.

I find that this show sort of has Arrow syndrome in that when the show hits, it's really good and can get to some pretty big highs. But when it misses, it REALLY misses and almost becomes boring and tedious to watch.
All in all a good show though.
