Another chapter of Minnesota nice is coming to FX. The cable network Monday announced plans for a third installment of Fargo, the acclaimed limited series based on Joel and Ethan Coen's 1996 film, midway through the run of its second season, which stars Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons and Ted Danson. The renewal is not surprising: Fargo is one of the most critically praised series on TV, and took home an Emmy and a Golden Globe for best miniseries last season. The news also comes soon after word of several cancellations at the network, including The Bastard Executioner, Married and The Comedians. No word on casting or storylines for the new season. The current one, which ends Dec. 14, features only one returning major character: Lou Solverson, who's played by a different actor since the new chapter takes place 27 years before the first one. In a recent interview about clues planted in Season 1 that helped reveal Season 2's storyline, creator Noah Hawley was asked if he'd done the same in the current season for a possible Season 3. "Maybe," he said.
