My main problem is how everything works out absolutely PERFECTLY in the end. God seldom works that way. Why not make it where coach gets a raise and they can adopt a child instead of her suddenly being healed of her infertility.

You should really watch Courageous then. Seriously.

I mainly agree with this and your ending would not have dampened the feel good part of the movie. Overall, a good movie with a wonder message the world today needs.

Do You Believe is the best Christian movie out there. And I'm a big fan of facing the giants, courageous, fireproof, woodlawn, God's not dead.
Just watched the I'm Not Ashamed movie about Columbine. It was pretty good.
When the game stands tall is another good football movie to watch. Has Jim Cavezel (spelling) in it and it's a true story

The crawl is a real good scene.

The rest of the movie is sort of cringeworthy because its not how kids talk.

I went to religious schools since 6th grade (Catholic and then non-denominational); nobody talks about God non-stop in regular classroom or especially sports settings. You have like one prayer before a game.

But in the movie, every conservation - regarding football to food in the cafeteria involves God.

There is no prep school in America like this. God this, God that.

That's it. And the kid going up to his Dad and saying, whatever you say is the law...what if his Dad is a child rapist or wife-beater or simply an a-hole? It's just blind deference from one passage in the bible obey thy father.

It's not a deep biblical movie...they take a few passages in the Bible, isolate them and then run with it.

It's the typical surface Christian movies we've come to expect. Joel Osteen stuff. God loves you, if you believe in him, you will be rich and you can win football games too.

I wish Christians would do a non-prosperity movie once...and a movie that really tries to do in depth and analyze biblical passages in the entirety of the story instead of bending them like Beckham to their own need.

But every Christian movie is prosperity based...believe in God and he will

A) Make you rich
B) Make you famous
C) Make you successful
D) Make you happy

I guess the more invasive movie into faith wouldn't make as much money. It would certainly be more interesting if the characters were real and had real discussions.

Woodlawn and War Room were very good. My favorite, although not an outright "Christian" movie is Miracles from Heaven. The sick little girl in the movie reminds of my granddaughter, gets to me everytime. Plus this movie has really superb actors as Christian movies today are starting to get better actors which makes the movie that much better. In Facing the Giants, the msg was awesome but some of the acting was downright terrible.

I have. I think they started doing better at not wrapping everything up in a pretty little bow in the end. Much truer to how things work out in the Christian life.

I love movies about average/poor/unsuccessful/miserable people.

Those are the best.

This the movie where God changes the wind direction because he likes one team more than the other?

I haven't seen this one yet but God is reading your heart and moving you to action.

True Story.

My best friend and his wife were splitting up, he had his own place and the papers were being drawn up.

I asked him if that was really what he wanted. He said no, not really but it's too far gone.

I asked him to watch Fireproof and if he wanted to save his family try the 30 day (or however many days it is) thing himself.

He did, it literally saved his marriage and his family is back together and the kids are doing better than ever.

That doesn't really surprise me. I'm a pastor trained in biblical counseling and I can say the principles put forth in that movie are pretty dang solid.
