Anyone else seen this yet? I don't want to give anything away, but it was a wild ride that was a nice relief from the overabundance of comic book releases.

It got a little too weird in a couple of scenes for my taste, but that was kinda the point. Most of it was just weird enough and really enjoyable.

I've heard nothing but good things.

This is one of those movies for people who complain about nothing original coming out of Hollywood. If you don't support this in theaters, you really should stop complaining.

I'm gonna try and go see it this weekend.

Plan on seeing it this week. I kept hearing about it in passing, and finally saw a trailer and instantly was like I need to see this halfway thru

So you think the basis of my comment was a 3 month period? Besides, 2 in 3 months is abundant for me as there have only been like 19 total theatrical releases.

If it’s anywhere near as good as Swiss Army Man they did it should be outstanding. That was also a weird, touching, outlandish movie.

Absolutely spectacular. The levels of absurdity it reaches while still remaining grounded are incredible. This is one of the most original movies in a long time and I still can’t believe it works like it does. Hilariously bonkers and deeply emotionally grounded.

This movie is worth seeing in theaters. Truly an experience.

Agreed. my son and I had a blast and we do not have similar tastes in movies. The entire theater was laughing out loud and even applauded at the end, and the audience was an eclectic bunch.

The dumb rock scenes were some of my favorites.

25 have been released in over 1k theaters.

there were 95 movies released in over 1k theaters last year.

6 were comic book based.

Before COVID it was normal for 130+ movies to make 1k theaters.

Do comic movies dominate the box office charts? Absolutely. Are they cock blocking other movies from being released? Nope. Not at all.

For those who have seen it, would you be comfortable taking a teenage (16 YO) son to the movie? It’s rated R and mentions violence and some sexual situations. The violence doesn’t bother me since it’s likely similar to the stuff you’d see in a Matrix movie but the sexual stuff could get a little awkward. I’d probably have to ask the boy what is going on.

There is no sex per se in the film. The sexual stuff is more related to comedic use of sex toys as weapons and stuff like that.

Will the movie make me cut onions? If so, I’d rather secretly watch it, away from my SO.

This was the stupiest, most incoherent, confusing mess I think I have ever sat through.

Definitely not for everyone. I think most will love it or hate it with very few in that middle ground.

I thought it was great. Imaginative, visually stunning, emotional heft. Best thing I’ve seen in quite a while. shite, I would go see it again tomorrow.

It’s a rare high when you watch a movie the first time and instantly feel like it is one of your favorite films of all time. Not saying everyone will feel that way, but my wife and I certainly did and so have many many people who have watched it so far.

Saw it a second time today with a better audience and it only heightened the experience even more.

Unless you’re a big crier, probably not. It does run the emotional gamut but didn’t illicit any tears from me.

I wish I was with those who liked this but I left at the half way point. It was just too over the top for me and I typically like the really odd movies. I decided to leave at the half way point because it would be easy to pick up when it’s available on streaming. I plan to finish it but I had enough during the first half. I was enjoying the crazy until the daughter showed up at the IRS building and it just really went off the rails.

I do love the concept and I think if they had gone in a slightly different direction I would have really loved it. It got some laughs from me but then I was just rolling my eyes.
