Anyone else watched/watching this show? First episode of Season 2 is out now on HBO.

I know most of this board (myself included) aren't really the target demographic for this show, but I'm hooked. It's one of the closest I've found to depicting high school years.

ETA: Apparently I went to a... progressive high school.. 15 years ago

In any event, the show is entertaining. Didn't meant to start a tangent comparing it to a "normal" high school.

Soundtrack is great and, of course, more Sydney Sweeney titties.

Just a heads up, though, there's at least 3-4 dicks shown in the first episode..

is this show considered good? I tried to get into season 1 but, lost interest. i just don't find zendaya attractive in any way. she always seems like just a miserable person.

It gets good reviews.. but that's partially because it checks all the "boxes" of 2022 (re: PC culture).

She's a miserable character - but so is everyone else in the show

I mean not necessarily my high school experience..

I just meant all the various groups (jocks, druggies, etc.) are represented.. and the drugs. Although nobody that I knew was in rehab or doing heroin in high school.

Was thinking the same thing... although admittedly I went to high school 20+ years ago it was nothing like what I've watched of this show.

I liked it. Enjoyed the backstory of Fezco.

That part was awesome. The Ashtray story added some context for us. The dude plays Fezco perfectly - and looks identical to Mac Miller.

The ending was really bad arse. Sweeney's character is like she said meant to be alone

Where did you go to high school?

Alternative reply:
As someone with a child in high school, God I hope not.

My wife watched that show so I caught a few episodes. I’m not really squeamish but got my fill of tranny and gay stuff pretty quick. The show seems like a subculture sewer but each his own I guess.

There’s no way anyone has had a high school experience like this show represents

Like everything in the show I’m sure has happened at some high school somewhere, but this shite ain’t happening all in the same school at the same time to the same people

This high school experience is like a writer creating his own backstory to sell a book so he fluffs up the details of everything to make it sound more impressive and hard

I mean I hate to tell you your own experience here, but I feel like that’s too low a bar to make a claim like that also maybe it was just my school but the cliques were way less defined.

If you want something that feels a lot closer to what high school actually feels like, watch something like Freaks and Geeks. It’s way more grounded with an actual high school experience through different stages of high school.

Euphoria is like an 8th grader who spends a lot of time on the internet describing what he expects High school to be like

the most unrealistic part to me isn't really anything the 24 year old high school students are doing... it's that the parents are completely absent.

we all knew kids who were really doing drugs and drinking heavily, depraved sex stuff, etc., but not consistently and on tuesday afternoons. way too much serious stuff is happening for no one to be "Grounded" or whatever.

i hate that i like this show. it's so disgusting

SPOILERS BELOW:

Did you also think Fez was going to kill him? I admittedly thought he was going to stab him or something. Based on the previews for the rest of the season, it looks like he is out and about and (maybe) courting Lexi? Her character is great.. I always forget she's Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow's daughter.
