Why all the hate? Thought she did a pretty decent job. Singing wasn't near as bad as some of y'all put it. Plus I think she looked pretty damn good.

It's a musical with some of the most iconic music and characters ever in Disney and they cast someone who can't really act or sing that well.

How many times have we heard in the past few weeks that the actors in La La Land had inferior singing talent and that's part of why the movie worked. At least 3 times. It's not the talent in the singing, it's the emotion that is conveyed. Now I haven't seen this movie so she may have failed in that but hell, a quote I heard this week from a film historian about how some iconic people in the classical musicals were just ok singers.

She does quite well at both in the movie.

No she doesn't, her singing is as computer generated as the beast.

I've never had a problem with her acting I didn't realize anyone really did honestly.

I was kind of expecting her to sound like a bad contestant on American Idol based on the comments from this board. I saw it last weekend with the family and just shook my head when she started "Belle" and thought what a bunch of idiots.

Honestly Disney probably doesn't care - it's making a ton of money so they probably casted exactly right.

And yet it still sounds pretty good.

I'm guessing you haven't seen it.

Pretty decent doesn't mean she still wasn't the weak link in the movie.

This movie is making me realize that this world is turning into nothing but a bunch of narcissistic, cynical, try-hards with an opinion about literally everything. There's always someone out there to remind everyone how much something sucks and how it could've/should've been better. I feel for those folks.

It did but you should expect much more from a production like this.

And I haven't seen her other work, but her acting was rough. Wooden and it really stood out among the others.

$270 million more and this movie crosses the Billion mark. Not too shabby.

Nice blanket statement for you to apply to everyone that doesn't agree with you.

I thought the movie was fun and well done in most respects. Watson was just a miscast in my opinion.

Your opinion being different doesn't make you better or worse.

Is the world full of cynical try-hards because most thought the star wars prequels sucked and that Natalie Portman did not act well in them?

Because Portman in those was the equivalent of Watson in B&B.

I don't do Star Wars so I have no idea what you're even talking about. All I know is my brother, who grew up as a die-hard to the originals, will go into a ranting tirade if he's drinking and someone just mentions the prequels.
