nah, had it a couple of months now. we definitely like it better than the old eatel service. it's basically like U verse i think.
better DVR, better navigation, easy to use. you'll like it. my only complaint is that there's no inputs on the new box. we used to run our dvd/wii through it and had to buy a splitter. other than that it's worth it.
edit: be mindful they switch out the box so wach everything on your dvr before you make the change.

I've had it for a little over two months. I love it. Guide and DVR are so much better looking and easier to use. When I get into a new show, I set the DVR to record every time it airs. If a duplicate episode airs, the DVR won't record it. Pretty helpful to save storage. Speaking of, I'm not sure how much it can hold, but I have about 170 recordings on it and it says I have 34% free space remaining.
A few negatives. A handful of times, I have lost TV signal or the ability to play back a recording. Usually rebooting the box helps. I sure do miss the damn clock on the box.
For $8 more per month it's definitely worth getting.

It's definitely worth it, and I'm not saying that because I'm an EATEL employee.
