Anyone know about this? Just saw the preview for the first time. Looks like a sports version of entourage, imo.

I don't think it's a bad role but he's making a bunch of huge movies. Doubt it's something that will make people view him much differently as an actor, like say True Detective.

An HBO show is a better long run deal than movies, imo. You get a cult following of fans, get locked in with great money (assuming you have a good agent which I'm sure he does) and think about this; if the show is a success and you exceed the contract, you have them by the balls for the next contract.

Looks like they are trying to fill the space that Entourage left with something that may be a bit more dramatic. But with Rob Corddry in it, you know there will be some laughs. I could get behind this.

The filming location probably has a great deal to do with him signing on. Ton of money and spending time in a town where he has deep roots.
