Don't Care About the Dark Tower

Im going full edgelord here.
I just don't give a shite about the Dark Tower. I would rather see The Eyes of the Dragon made into a film.
I dislike King these days. I liked the first book in the series, but thought the rest was typical King schlock. Other than fan service, there was nothing to like about the books. They were just shite books.
I honestly don't get the love.
But I hope you guys enjoy the film.

This HAS to be a troll. The first book was the worst of the series.
Drawing of the Three and The Wastelands are the best part of the story...especially Blaine the Monorail.

I stopped at Wolves of the Calla.
THe reason I liked the first book is because I love short-form, serial fiction. The rest felt like King doing King things, and his schtick got old for me long ago.
But this series was written for his fanboys. As I said, I hope you guys enjoy the film.

The first 4 or 5 were good. It went downhill once he wrote himself into the series.

Weird thread. Too early to be drinking on a Wednesday.

I only read the first three books in the series but the way they shook things up with the cast for the movie was a HUGE let down. I'm not interested, either.

Wolves of Calla was #5 and was terrible. The women who threw plates as weapons was just stupid, and there was much else that was off.
And I couldn't agree more about him writing himself into the story. Possibly the worst, most egotistical thing he could have done.
I did like the very ending to the series, but the last 4 books were wildly uneven getting there.

After seeing that trailer I have no interest either

One of my favorite King stories if not my favorite. Best escape plan in any novel ever.

agreed the last three books were choppy at best but I liked the ending.
The two prequels Wizard and Glass and Wind through the keyhole were very very good.

How much attention are you seeking?

Struggled to get through the first and then made it about 100 pages through the second and said frick it.
Kings prose is like a try hard ten year old attempting to write his first story.

It took me forever to finish the 2nd one, The Drawing of the Three. I almost gave up. Glad I didn't though because the 3rd one, Into the Wastelands is awesome. Also Roland's back story in Wizard and Glass was phenomenal. I'm halfway through the 5th one, wolves of the calla, right now and am still enjoying it. These are the only King books I've read so don't have anything else to compare them to

I don't care about anything Star Wars or Star Trek. I think I'll start a thread and let you know.
