but RT chooses to count their mediocre ratings as positives for this particular film.

I definitely wouldn't consider mediocre films, 'rotten'.

Ah yes the old, "It doesn't matter what people say, it is 100% fact that this movie is of (insert level here) quality."

I'm sure Chicken will grant your request to be renamed DC Sunshine Pumper any day now.

Film is subjective (as is all art), but there are a few truisms in the art that are about as close to objective as it is possible to be. For instance, The Dark Knight Rises > Catwoman. Or how about Airplane > Freddy Got Fingered?

Well first, you didn't say TDKR was better than Catwoman as a fact, you said it was better than TDW and IM3 as a fact.

I agree. Outside of the absolute confirmed classics/greats and the absolute confirmed stinkers, everything else is subjective. 95% of film probably fits in that category.

TDKR is neither a classic, nor an absolute stinker. The same can be said for IM3 and TDW, therefore, people who may prefer IM3 or TDW aren't "kidding themselves." Those films are basically on par with TDKR.

Because I suggested that this movie would be very good but probably not exceptional?

Metacritic has just as many problems as RT.

Those movies are all on the same tier of not good superhero movies.

Just got home from seeing Dr. Strange. I thought it was great. I'm not a comics guy so I knew next to nothing about the character. I don't want to give any spoilers but they tie this story into the Avengers/Marvel universe in several different small ways throughout the movie.

What they did worked. Visually stunning and it had several good laughs. I don't typically care for 3D, but I'd recommend it for this one.

I heard several times that it's like Iron Man meets Inception and I'd have to say that's spot on. Fun movie to watch.

This is what I've been going back and forth on. Glad to hear the 3D is worth it.

I am so down for some 3D action on this. I have seen every super hero movie this year in the theatre and this was in my top 3 must sees for this year. So pumped.
