It's a helluva movie. I can't count the number of times I've seen it. My Mom took me up to Natchitoches to watch some of the filming which was a lot of fun, though it was August and hotter than blue blazes. We rode around and looked at the other places where parts were filmed. I remember standing near some bushes with glued on flowers because it supposed to be Easter. There were magnolias glued in magnolia trees and fake azalea bushes in the back yard where the reception scene was.

Great moment in the movie. Dramatic and funny.

My aunt took me to the Whistle-Stop Cafe in Irondale. Mmmm, implied cannibalism.

If you question yourself enough to ask ... then the answer is "Yes."

Beaches is a really good movie...long-term friendship...loyalty...sort of the movie you'd think most guys would like based on the themes...if you can get past the leads and their cattiness.

Thought Joy Luck Club was a great movie.

And I'm a sucker for Where the Heart Is - no matter how cheesy it is...Portman and Ashley Judd are great in it.

There are a lot of good movies that are on surface chick flicks but tell great stories and have themes that are often similar to male themes.

I agree. One of the best movies of the 90s.

While we're at it...

I'm a sucker for Fried Green Tomatoes. If I were a character in that movie, I'd be "Smokie Lonesome".

It was filmed in Nachitoches so that makes it OK.

If you ever watch Notebook without getting laid as a result - kill yourself.

My only problem is why couldn't they just use the real name of the parish it's in?
