Which actor that can also sing would have you pissing your pants laughing due to his incredibly goofy portrayal and physical facial acting more?

Jemaine Clemet would be my first choices by far. Solid comedic actor, great voice, can improvise. He was awesome as Tomatoa , I wish hed do more voice over work like that

After that:

Jack Black
John C Reilly
Jim Carrey
Both Key and Peele
Justin Timberlake
Andy Sandburg
Eddie Murphy
Will Ferral
Weird Al

All better choices than Will Smith. Will Smith is a one note actor with 0 range and a terrible voice. I assume Genie will do all of his songs in a shitty hip hop fashion. And I'm not saying that because I'm racist, I think will Smith sucks at what he does.

Jim Carrey would've been my #1 choice. I think he would be a great genie, and yes I agree that the new Jasmine looks good too.

I remember this same type of reaction from this board when Gal Gadot was named Wonder Woman. Look how that turned out.
I also remember this same type of reaction by me when they named Will Smith as Deadshot.

If I remember correctly, I also accurately predicted that that casting would turn Suicide Squad into Look Its Will Smith Squad, which it did.

Smith is washed up and can't accept anything but star roles. He has zero range.

Just change the name of this movie to The Genie Story.

Considering Deadshot was one of like 2 good parts of that steaming pile of shite, why are you saying this like it's a bad thing?

Will Smith can still deliver in movies. But this wouldn't be the movie board without a bitchfit over something.

Man I love Chappelle but seriously would you want Tron, Silky Johnson or Clayton Bigsby as the Genie.

He was awful.

That doesn't even consider the fact that had Smith not been cast, they wouldn't have focused on one person so damn much.

He's not the Fresh Prince any longer, he's a crazy scientologist with fricked up kids. Plus, he sucks now, gone downhill hard.

It's a Disney movie.

Will Smith is the safe choice.

He's not the best choice here. But I think he's an underrated actor who will do ok.

I agree with that list above. All those would've been better. Jim Carey with a spray on tan would've nailed it.

One of the criticisms of Robin Williams' performance in Aladdin is that his impressions date the movie too much. For instance, how many people under 20 or even 30 know who in the hell Arsenio Hall is?

Who the frick criticized him as the Genie? It was pretty much tGoat role in a Disney movie. In case you haven't paid attention to any disney movie in the last 30 years, they always give the adults a little shout out in some way. Aladdin came out in 1992. Right when Arsenio was in his prime.
