When is Lion King going to be released from the vault in a dvd/Blu-ray/digital combo?

my kid loves watching the new Lion guard show but for some reason they didn't coordinate the release of the show with releasing Lion King from the vault.

That subliminal sex graphic is going to be amazing in Blu-ray.

They are going to hold out until they can assure themselves a HUGE profit. That vault idea was genius.

Think of that pitch

"Hey guys, how about we sell more movies......by not selling our movies?"

We Americans have such a scarcity fascination, haha.

Since our entire movie collection got washed away, I've found Disney's vault to be extremely irksome...

It's supposed to be irksome, that's why everyone will buy it when it comes out of the vault. In your case though, yeah I'd be ticked. I do wonder if they've ever thought of things like that though.

I was thinking about how long i waited for Toy Story to come out on VHS when i was a kid.

Disney Vault is pretty cruel.

IT also got me to thinking about what it must have been like in the Pre-VHS days.

The Movie of the Week was a huge player in every network's lineup. The only way to see a lot of classic films pre-VHS and pre-cable was to wait for the networks to broadcast it. It sucked, but it also made movies to childhood me fairly legendary.

I thought it was so cool as a kid when they started the Disney Channel.

Then they showed none of the good stuff.

I ain't mad. Just frustrated a little. We've had friends help replace my son's toys and a few movies as well. The current list we've got:

Snow White
Zootopia
Princess and the Frog
Winnie the Pooh
Robin Hood
Fox and the Hound
Aladdin
The Good Dinosaur
Sleeping Beauty
Lilo & Stitch
The Aristocats
The Rescuers
The Rescuers Down Under
A Bug's Life
Hercules
Ratatouille
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Toy Story 3
Finding Nemo

That's a great start but we are missing so many more that we had collected over time:

Cinderella
Beauty and the Beast (coming out next week)
Lion King
Monsters Inc
The Incredibles
Wall-E
Up
Bambi
The Little Mermaid
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
The Jungle Book
Monsters University
Brave
Cars
Frozen
The Great Mouse Detective
Fantasia
Inside Out
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Lady and the Tramp
Sword and the Stone
101 Dalmatians
Pocahontas
Mulan
The Emperor's New Groove
Tarzan
Meet the Robinsons
Tangled
Wreck It Ralph
