Caught it last night expecting a comedy in the vain of Hangover...at least that's what I had heard.

Can't say I didn't warn you, even at the expense of getting slammed for saying it....

WARNING: Bridesmaids IS a chick flick and has symptoms of Apatow-eukemia

I was going to start a thread about this because I recently watched it, but I searched first which is why I am bumping this.

I recently watched this show and I was very disappointed. I assumed the bridesmaids were going to be on a bachelorette party, but it was basically about the relationship between one bridesmaid and the bride, which was threaten by another bridesmaid and in order to make the movie marketable they threw in some funny parts, which was pretty much everything you saw in the previews.

I rented the unedited version so I thought I would see more adult humor, but I was wrong. The only thing I could see that would have been different was maybe the word "frick" was said a few more times, which really not even that many times.. considering it was unedited.

The whole movie was crap and I am not a fan of the awkward humor Kristen Wig produces.

That was no question the funniest scene, but if you saw the previews you don't have to watch the the movie to see that part..

I thought it was one of the funnier movies of that kind. Much funnier to me than the male versions that Apatow and the Hangover crew churn out.

Wedding Crashers and Old School were overrated.

Yeah. I said it.

I don't know man, there are some classic scenes on both of these movies and both movies had sort of an original plot. The story line is Bridesmaids was basically masked, in the previews, in order to make it appear as if it was something it wasn't... funny.

Just because you don't think something is funny doesn't mean everyone should agree with you.

I found it humorous.

I agree with you and should have worded my response better. I was just giving my opinion on the movies you mentioned, but yeah I am not trying to say that because I thought it sucked everyone should think so, but personally I am just not a fan of Kristen Wiig's humor. Those who do find her funny would like the movie a lot more than I did, but I didn't mean to come off as me saying it sucked and everyone should have the same opinion..
