Why do people think this guy is a good actor? And I'd say it's hard for him to pull of a convincing Woodrow Wilson when he still looks all of 15 years old... just with a few wrinkles.

what bad performances has he had?

(Other than Growing Pains)
I don't think he's bad I just don't think he's good. Sort of like Brad Pitt. Serviceable and can read his lines well enough but never really felt he was the best thing in any of his movies.

You're trying too hard.
DiCaprio has been fantastic in a number of films.

I'm not trying anything -- if I were here to troll surely I'd find a more interesting topic than Leonardo DiCaprio's acting ability. I don't think any of his performances have approached anything close to 'fantastic.'

My favorite performances of his are probably What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Basketball Diaries, Gangs of New York, Catch Me if You Can, The Departed, and Revolutionary Road.
I'd say he was fantastic in those.

About a year ago I read he was supposed to play H.H. Holmes from Devil in the White City. Was really looking forward to that cause its a great book.

Seeing that guy try to grow facial hair to appear older is comical at best.

Because there are very few good actors these days for proper comparison. His range may be limited by his youthful look, but he's done a good job of picking movies and regularly being well cast = good acting these days.

Everything sucks these days, no one is good at anything, blah blah blah…
Am I doing it right?

Woodrow Wilson isn't worth remembering. The best thing he ever did was die.
