it's certainly interesting... and have I missed this premise be made in a major motion picture?

seems almost perfect for a big summer blockbuster

Decent for a network show. I wish it was just a 6 or 10 episode deal.

As a series, they will have to water it down with shite about the kids and boring side issues.

I agree they had to "rush" through some aspects because that is the only realistic way to do it. They needed a leader and to put one out in front of the American People as soon as possible. Not to mention it seemed real in how they did it in the sense that it's a situation never before encountered. I liked that part of it.

Let me put it this way - if this were a novel I'd read it instantly

I enjoyed it. We'll keep watching. I don't like getting the family drama stuff going. Totally don't care.

Definitely seems to be a bomb that was planted in the Capitol prior to the SOTU, which would suggest an inside job. As far as taking him to the White House, that's where all the surviving joint chiefs were, the bunker underneath. (Plus, may have been too expensive to get footage of AF1 to use for a pilot before they knew if the show would get picked up or not. )

It was. Sort of.

Tom Clancy's two books Debt of Honor (the last part of it,anyways) and Executive Orders.

I thought it was a good show. Will watch again. I thought Keifer was taller. He nailed it in that scene with the Iranian Ambassador.

Best part of the show last night..

And a 100% agree, I give zero fricks about the kids and whatever stupid side story they come up with there.

Maybe they will catch on quick like Homeland did and drop the kids story line since everyone will hate it.

To me, he makes a better Pirate than General. He just didn't look "general-y" enough. To me.

I enjoyed the premise of the show, and will continue watching for the time being, but I agreed that the White House wouldn't exactly be the 1st place they took the new President after an attack. Also, I would think that the designated survivor would not be in DC, but in a NORAD bunker or something similar.

Now I just realized that the father in Turn: Washington's Spies on AMC is Mr. Gibbs.

I love how ABC has the Urban Housing Director as the good guy and the pro war General portrayed as the bad guy.
Why can't they let us enjoy a series without shoving their political views down our throats?

Can't you watch a TV show without seeing politics in it?

Eh.. not that kind of politics.

The "OH MY GOSH, THEY MADE THE MILITARY GUY BAD. WHY DO THEY HATE AMERICA. HOW DARE THEY." kind of politics.

Was waiting for someone to mention Debt of Honor and Executive Orders. My wife keeps saying, "All they're doing is giving terrorists ideas..."

I pointed out to her that those books are 20+ years old.

i like it so far. But yeah the you're the president part was bad.

also, if they were close enough to see the fire and cloud, wouldn't they have felt the blast long before the secret service busted in telling them what happened?

Just watched it. Liked it a lot. Fastest 42 minutes. When he said "My Fellow Americans" and cut off, I wanted to see more.
