A hearty thank you to Uncle Stu, I thought this was a great series.

Check it out, on Netflix.

more of a drama than a comedy, although there are some decidedly funny parts of every episode. It's about a nursing home and the characters that work/live there.

it's Gervais, and therefore a British show, so you have to somewhat be in tune with his style of comedy, but there are also a lot of dramatic overtones, and few fairly sad, heartstring moments as well. But overall, it's a very uplifting show, you kinda feel good about life at the end of every episode.

it's difficult to describe as it doesnt fit any sort of typical mold for a show that you've seen

Just finished the series. Only complaint is there wasnt enough. Haha. Absolutely brilliantly written and acted i though. Love seeing Ricky do dramatic. He really does it well. The end of the office & extras obviously come to mind. Good mix of comedy and drama i thought. Pilkington was really impressive to me as well, and they seem to always find great female leads for his shows. Was really pleased with this series and i had sky high expectations going in. Was it exactly what i thought itd be? No. Is that a bad thing? Not even remotely. That last episode was phenomenal.

Just watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them. Never knew it existed until I went on Netflix and saw Gervais in a Netflix original series. Didn't even bother to read the description before clicking. Definitely a more serious show than I expected. Will check out the rest Friday.

Finally got starting this last night.....I finished it last night too. Like someone said, wish it was more than 7 episodes. I did need the subtitles though, I've always had a hard time with those accents in TV shows for some reason.

Great series. Very well written and acted. Has heart and humor, makes you laugh and get sad. The last episode was some good stuff.

Also it is pretty much Karl playing himself with a wig on. Which is perfectly fine in my book. He is hilarious.

Any news on a season 2?

I watch almost every show/movie with subtitles now. I always catch some of the small stuff I would normally miss. Might be that at 21 I have the hearing of a 65 year old

only that Netflix has agreed to it - beyond that, no clue as to how many episodes and such.

Gervais will only make the number of episodes he's feels is right. If he's only got material for 10 episodes, that's all you're getting. And now that he's in love with the Netflix model that doesn't put any pressure on the show creators to go a particular direction from the "network execs" - he could pump out 5 episodes, or it could be 12

Hahah, she was great.

I couldn't stop laughing at the exchange between Derek and Dougie had about Derek buying the frog at the jumble sale that Dougie sent with them to be sold.

Equal parts brilliant and horrible.

AIDS vs. rabies was my favorite scene, but I can't find the whole clip. That was the trip to the beach episode, which also had the wrestling scene.
