so who are the "good" guys and who isn't? I just wikipedia'd it and my eyes are crossed.

seems like Quinn was a bad guy with Joker and then at one point in the suicide squad.

does the squad fight the Joker?

Let's be honest Smith isn't exactly lined up with big budget movies

I'd be willing to bet you are wrong.

If I was a betting man, i'm sure Smith has plenty of offers.

Personal life aside and After Earth as well, I am a pretty big fan of the guys work. He is a good actor. I would say the same thing of Tom Cruise.

I think a lot of the hate he is getting is because it is just the popular thing to do right now.

With that being said, I was very disappointed to see him walk away from Django. I would have been interested to see if he could play the part. I think that would have been a true test of his skills.

The Suicide Squad is a group of villains that are "recruited" to do secret jobs for the U.S. Government and other "agencies."

They are chosen because the are completely expendable.

There are many different variations of the stories, and many villains have been part of the team.

yep, got all that. I guess I'm wondering of all those actors they announce, are they all in the suicide squad even Joker?

"recruited"

Most of them are "recruited" from high security prisons, and are really not given much of an choice as to whether they will join or not. And if they step out of line in most storylines, it's at the price of death (or at least the threat of it).

If you have a chance, watch Batman: Assault on Arkham. It's a really good DC animated movie with the Suicide Squad that deals with a storyline that I'm assuming will be somewhat close to the one this movie will have (minus Batman of course).

But there is also a very specific Suicide Squad comic storyline that deals with Quinn's involvement with the SS, and while Joker is a big part of the storyline, he isn't part of the SS.

ETA: I may just have to watch Batman: Assault on Arkham now that I've got it in my head.

No doubt she'll be sexy as hell, but I want the insanity, the psychopath done right.

I can already look at pics of Margot Robbie nude. Let us see how she does acting.

Here we go. See bolded.

Yesterday a report came in that Tom Hardy had dropped out of the Suicide Squad movie due to a scheduling conflict. But now word has dropped that there may have been more to the matter than that.

Latino Review reports that many of the lead actors of the DC comics adaptation were not shown a script before they signed on. But the site's sources say that once Hardy got the screenplay,"He simply didn't like the script he was finally given, he didn't like the drastic change to the character." That character is Rick Flag, the leader of the Squad. LR adds that Flag also has less screen time in the latest draft of the script, allowing for characters like Deadshot and Joker to get more action.

Jake Gyllenhaal is said to be in the running to replace Hardy. The film is also set to star Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
Taking one's clothes off is becoming the ticket to celebrity. She has certainly never been impressive as an actress.

I've been hoping they come film in Houma so I can stalk her and/or impregnate her.

That is the mistake DC is making. You don't sign big names like Smith to a team movie like this where you have to split up screen time between characters.

You especially don't pick people like Will Smith who have to be front and center.

I have a sneaking suspicion that screen time won't be split evenly in this own. ...

But if they are going to get close to the main Harley/Joker/SS from the comics, then Harley should probably get the most screen time, with Joker & Deadshot following.

The thing with Harley Quinn, which is damn hard to pull off, is you need to make her seem innocent, carefree... even child like.

And then have her beat someone's brains in with a brick. Because it was Tuesday.

We all know the Joker is hopelessly insane. Harley works because she is too, but you don't get that right away.
