Did the chemicals that blinded him give him super powers or are we to believe that he has attained heightened abilities in his other 4 senses? The show is great but requires a huge suspension of belief if the later. Not as big a suspension as being led to believe that the girl covered in moles is pretty, however.

Nothing more the super senses which the show does a fracking terrible job of showing since he appears to be unable to avoid 99% of the punches / flailing pipes thrown his way.

He gets nearly killed every episode. Since he DOES NOT have super healing, he really should have been dead by the end of episode 2.

I love the ultra violent take on Daredevil, but as stated since he doesn't have super healing, the show is almost laughable at times, since he shrugs off a collapsed lung, bullet wound, crushed spine and massive head trauma, by simply walking it off. He doesn't even rub any dirt on it.

The scene that shows the world on fire is supposed to have shown his powers but I thought i remember them editting it down to the point where it still isnt clear. But yes, chemicals gave him super senses.

On the notw of healing, I actually thought the show was trying to claim he also got an improved healing system as well from the accident. Didnt he have a scene with Night Nurse where she is amazed as how much he has recovered/punishment he could take and he wrote it off as his dad just being tough too.

I think they made it seem that part of his power was the ability to take the pain, but the damage is still there. I didn't watch the whole season but the several episodes I did watch, never alluded to him having super healing, just the ability to take pain. Which as I said, should have led to his death by episode 2.

I seem to recall, in the comic, the whole point is that he is able to avoid most damage because of his senses. This show is just one giant pain train for him.

The chemicals didn't give him any super powers but it did mutate some turtles and a rat into humanoid form.

Suspension of disbelief? In a superhero show? I don't believe you.

Also, he has an increased ability to take damage and the show alluded to him having a slight increased healing factor a couple times.

He also has very extensive martial arts and meditation training.

Also, he's a superhero, so theres that.

I get it if you don't think she's super hot, but to say she isn't even pretty is the same as coming out the closet. So congrats.

This is why I wish the show had focused on his status as a superhero instead of his decision to kill or not.

This is a universe where Iron Man, The Hulk, and a Nordic God all exist to protect Earth from super eel spaceships that send destruction and death. Daredevil is small time compared to them, and it should have been part of his character development.

It would have made a lot more sense for him to be asking, "Am I really supposed to be out here at night fighting bad guys when I keep getting the shite kicked out of me?" And the answer could have been, "Yes. The world needs me because our heroes are only protecting us from big apocalyptic events while we continually hurt ourselves with power and greed."

This really bugs me too. He's always getting beat up.

I think him getting beat up is the more believable thing on the show. If he was untouchable just starting out there would be more of an outcry

I remember people bitching at the show Blind Justice saying it was unrealistic to have a blind cop. That guy wasn't fighting people yet people suspend disbelief for this show no problem.

When people become blind, their other senses are heightened some to try to make up for the loss. But the biggest reason his senses are super human good is because of the chemicals splashed on his eyes. It would be unrealistic if he barely got hurt but at the same time it is unrealistic that he comes back so fast from his injuries. However, it's a Marvel show so it can't be expected to be completely logical.

more importantly you need to know that the same chemicals gave The Ninja Turtles their mutation.

LOL at people talking about a SUPERHERO show not being believable.

What a lazy crappy retort.

You can still have the super heroes using the actual powers they have and you can still create rules and context to their powers.

It just makes no sense the way they have written the character. He has super sense but they amount to almost squat because he get killed every episode.

To be fair the show takes place before he is Daredevil. He doesn't suit up until very last episode.

SPOILERS!

Unrelated note, how awesome would the movies be if they were willing to kill off a major character like this show does.

The opening credits should have been changed in that case. That's such a tease. BTW, what the hell is up with Fisk and his whispering?
