I've got a question for y'all.

We all know the price to hire a faceless man is high as hell. What did Euron pay to have Balon killed?

He paid the Faceless Man his dragon egg. I doubt he was stupid enough to really throw it into the sea.

I tend to agree with that but there's still the question of why Illyrio would help Dany and Viserys at all. Maybe he expected the Dothraki to kill Viserys but he couldn't have predicted Drogo's death opening the door for Aegon and Dany to marry could he?

I think Illyrio was trying to take Viserys and Dany out of the picture completely. He and Varys likely knew that Drogo would kill Viserys because of his nature. They also knew that the Dothraki would very likely never cross the sea to fight for a throne they had no interest in. With the only two remaining Targs out of the picture, it would create an easy path for fake Aegon to claim the throne as a Targ pretender. If Viserys or Dany are alive, they would have actual Targ's there to question his lineage. Without them, they get to present a returning king to a country in chaos. Many of whom still have loyalty to the Dragon. Instead they now have another Targ who is actually in possession of dragons. Loyalists are likely to be divided now which is what I believe Illyrio and Varys were trying to prevent.

One thing I caught in my re-read of GOT was that Illyrio is a follower of the Lord of Light. This is the religion most closely associated with the Dragon. I don't have a theory as to what it means, so take it for what its' worth. I do not believe Illyrio is in this just for a monetary reward at the end.

Any theories about Euron's Dragon Egg comign back into play?

If a Faceless Man has it, will Arya find it / return it to Westeros? Might this be the Stone Dragon that Jon wakes?

Nor do I. He wants his son, who IMO is clearly Aegon, sit the Iron Throne. Like a previous poster said, I think he made a promise to his Blackfyre wife to return their son to his true home. It will be interesting to see where the sword Blackfyre ends up.

I do not have the book with me, but didn't Illyrio try to convince Viserys to stay with him?

I think Jaqen killed Pate to get the Citadel key which unlocks a hidden stash of dragon eggs or books on dragons. Wild theory with no real basis.

I forget her name, but I think Tysha is the whore in Bravvos that makes the men marry her before sleeping with them. The singer from the NW that came with Sam married her the night Arya killed him

I totally, totally, totally missed that. Did you come up with that on your own, or find it on TotH or W.Org? If on your own, then

I will forge thee a crown of pocket protectors

ETA: ok, I guess that theory is a popular one - found it in a thread almost a year old. At least you get credit for intro ing me to it.

Maybe to get a book on hatching / care of dragons? Or a prophesy about re-waking the dragons?

I have always been interested in the supposed hidden stash of dragon eggs. I always doubted Dragonstone as it would be too obvious. But guarded in secret at the Citadel by an order that is considered to be strictly servants is a very good place for them to be hidden. I believe the maesters are going to become a player in Winds. Write fat man write!!!!!!

I just can't figure out what he was attempting at the wall? Maybe taking out aemon? But why he's an old blind man and no threat to anyone. I just don't get it

I don't think he was ever planning on getting all the way to the Wall. I see the main argument for the Aemon theory is that Jaqen is in Oldtown which is where Aemon was headed. But Jaqen was in Oldtown at the beginning of Feast/Dance, really far from the Wall and well south of Harrenhal, when Aemon was just being ordered to travel there. So unless the Faceless Men could teleport, I don't think Jaqen ever intended going all the way to the Wall. He headed south when he should have been going north.

Didn't join up with Yoren. He was taken from the dungeons as prisoner to the wall. Then he stuck around to repay a debt to Arya for freeing him. After which he disappears until we see him at Oldtown, before Aemon is even headed that way.

This. What the hell was he doing in KL dungeons in the first place? If he was there to kill someone, wouldn't he have gone back? And if he wasn't purposefully headed to the Wall, what is he doing in Oldtown? He is a trained assassin who apparently doesn't have anyone to assassinate. If Aemon was his target, then wouldn't he just go back to the Temple in Braavos?

From AWOIAF - we know of 3 dragons eggs besides Eurons (all 3 from Dunk and Egg). Of those three 1 was presumably destroyed, one lost and one stolen. - Maybe the latter two are in the Citadel?
