I noticed the other day that Nick Offerman is playing Ignatius in Boston right now.

Supposedly this is considered a step toward running the play on Broadway.

How would you feel about a COD film starring Offerman?

A Confederacy of Dunes film could be great if done right, but most likely it would just suck. It would require a certain New Orleans flavor that typically comes across as hokey in movie/tv.

Did you see Offerman in Fargo? His drunk rant to the cops and Bear Gerhardt was fricking amazing. I used to think the way you did, but now I thin k he could pull it off.

What is Confederacy of Dunces? I always see yall talking about it.

I graduated smart, but I don't remember reading it in high-school or college. I think I had one teacher who mentioned the book, but he was more concerned with being funny and quick witted than teaching us anything of substance.

actually I don't think he knew much of anything other than how to be popular with female students.

I picked COD off a list to read as a school assignment the summer between junior and senior year of high school.

It to this day is probably my favorite book I've ever read, or at least top 3. Not only is it extremely witty and entertaining, but I would imagine anyoen who has even visited New Orleans, much less lives or spends a lot of time there, would enjoy it greatly.

I'll have it pick it up.

I think I tried to start it once in college, but my brain was reeling and I decided to just do something else. Probably made some velveta dip and went to sleep.

Isn't Ignatius Reilly suppose to be 30 in the book? Stretch for Goodman.

Offerman is one of a select few that could do it very well.

Was this intentional, because it's pretty clever.

Yes, you fricking nerd, everyone knows about it. Belushi, Farley, and then Will Ferrell never getting to do it. We all know, so shut the frick up.

Too short.

Will Ferrell would be my pick.
