After watching the pilot I think it will be closer to Fear The Walking Dead than Falling Skies. Only unlike FTWD this is an occupation, not an apocalypse, so Colony will not have an event to displace the military. This will be about humans vs. humans, collaborators vs. resistance.

I got the same feel from watching it, although it is set in LA, so there were a lot of similarities between the two.

I thought the pilot was okay. Nothing special, but good enough to keep me interested. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out with Lori being with the resistance and Sawyer hunting them (don't remember their names on the show, so that's what I'm calling them). Does he know that she is a part of that though? I don't remember seeing anything that led me to believe he knew...although I was kinda confused a bit by that (wasn't paying enough attention for part of it).

I do hope we get some background about the aliens and the actual invasion...I'd love to see how they came and got this shite set up, as well as know if there are other installations like this around the country/world (and where).

It's pretty good.

It's co-created by Carlton Cuse so there's that.

I didn't understand the phone call Katie made to her black friend, something about a party and her "friend" going but not invited? Was she talking about her husband Will? What party?

That was all code speak. The "party" was the insurgents explosion.

The "friend" was her husband being smuggled through without her knowing about it as she had figured out at that point that the reason he was gone for so long was probably because he had been picked up by the red hats.

The way Lori said She was the man on the inside and "they hired my husband to hunt us down.", not We and "they hired Sawyer", I got the impression he doesn't know. It also seems like a tried and true way to create drama and conflict with him unknowingly hunting his wife.

I don't think he knows as when he told her he was going to collaborate,(as he has no option) she told him they and their kids were going to be targets for the resistance now if he went thru with the decision. She made it seem like she was not part of it when she told him that.

Watched the pilot over the weekend, not bad. Not sure it's a storyline that could be really good beyond a mini-series though.

I've only seen the pilot but I enjoyed it. I thought Sawyer did a good job playing a tortured soul.

I don't get the FTWD comparisons.

People living under martial law in a post apocalyptic environment where all the niceties of modern society went away overnight.
