Mox quit on the team after that game.

He is the true villain of the film.

My biggest pet peeve about varsity blues is the final play in which they sequence the game winning TD in slow motion while simultaneously showing the clock winding down in the final seconds and the TD is made right as the clock hits zero

Dear director/writer of that movie,

In football, the clock is fricking irrelevant in that scenario. That's the last play of the game, it's not a damn buzzer beater, once it's snapped, they play can go for as long as it needs to take after zero

Coach Smith from One on One comes to mind. (G.D. Spradlin had a knack for characters like this - he also played the bad guy sheriff in Tank, opposite Jim Garner).

Any given Sunday (the GOAT football movie of all time btw and I'll fight anyone who disagrees) did that technique but in a way it made sense, they did it to show there was enough time for the actual final play

How shitty of a person do you have to be to threaten a high school kid to follow your game plan by threatening to frick with his grades and his scholarship to college?

I doubt a simpleton coach like Kilmer would even know what to do in order to mess up an Ivy League school's scholarship offer

His lack of concern for his players health was shite. He is lucky Billy Bob didn't get drunk and blah his arse instead of his little league trophies. You know those concussions were not anything to play with.

Also kudos to those guts for not ratting out their stripper teacher.

What I do not understand in what happened to the coaching staff? Did they all quit?

Or was this the only football team to have only 1 coach?

Her being a teacher and a stripper in a middle of nothing town with no one knowing might be the least believable thing in the movie
