I am ready!

Durotan and Doomhammer talking in the future Blasted Land
LINK

HUman getting owned by Orcs, this will set the tone for all future Warcraft games.
LINK

Medivh and his student
LINK

An orion slave girl from Star Trek?
LINK

I like the second clip. Dude tried to tackle that orc but got lit the frick up. It's like a CB trying to tackle an Offensive Lineman. Not happening.

I really hope this doesn't flop. I want it to be successful so we can possible get sequels. I want a Frozen Throne / Lich King series more than I can express words for.

I worry that this one is going to come off as too CGI heavy. It makes it hard to suspend disbelief.

I have the same concern, but I'm keeping my hopes up.

As someone who never played the game, the previews and CGI are a little off-putting. It doesn't excite me, but I can see where anyone who played the game would be pumped.

I played quite a bit and I have no real interest in seeing this in theatres. My wife definitely doesn't want me to see it. She HATED when I played

Garona is anything but an Orion slave girl. She is half-orc/half-draenei and in the games she murders King Llane (Varian's father)

I've never played it but the movie looks cool. This is the type of movie this board will automatically hate, with most posters never seeing it but hating it for the CGI.

I think CGI is great if done well. Yes it removes the grit and texture of real life, but consider that before CGI came along we either got puppets, guys in makeup, or no movie at all. CGI is the reason we even get movies like this now.

Puppets and guys in make-up beats the shite out of CGI if done right.

Examples:

Graboids from Tremors.
Wheelers from Return to Oz.
That creepy-arse eyeballs in his hands guy from Pan's Labirynth (granted he was partially CGI, but still make-up for the most part)

CGI is used as a cheap crutch to avoid putting the time and work into working up great puppets and make-up/costumes. It always, without fail, looks fake and cheap when it's put alongside live-action.

Honestly, best direction for me would be the next movie being a Warcraft3 following through the Frozen Throne expansion. Movie three gives us the Illidan storyline from Burning Crusade, then movie four is Wrath of the Lich King.

End it there and call it a day.

I played the game for a long time, but this just doesn't look that good to me. I will check it out and hope I'm wrong.

Sure there were a few movies pre-CGI that hold up well, but honestly most look like dogshit compared to modern special effects which use CGI. I remember the Lou Ferigno hulk. No thanks. I agree CGI can be an overused crutch but I won't hate a movie just Bc of that when otherwise we'd not get the movie at all.

Previews look terrible. I have never not wanted to watch a movie so bad.

For me it's quality over quantity. There are CGI scenes where you know it's fake, but it looks real. Then there are CGI scenes where it's not of a realistic quality. My concern is that some of these previews and scenes are just not a good enough quality CGI in regards to the interface with the scene. CGI elements, even if they are characters and people, have to seamlessly blend in with the environment. I'm scared that they aren't acheiving that in some of these.
