They referenced the Western forces of Texas and California, which makes me wonder if those two states joined up.

Some of the military uniforms have American flag patches with only two stars on it. So I think they join forces, which would be a super odd couple.

Not sure where Florida fits into this.

I can only think of two reasons California and Texas banded together:

1. A purely economic alliance. With Cali's agriculture and tech, and Texas's energy, it could be a pretty formidable alliance.

OR

2. The Cali blue voter invasion of Texas came to your nightmare conclusion, and Texas was a blue state before they formed their alliance.

Although let's be fair here, Florida is the wildcard when it comes to the next civil war. If I'm in a trench opposite them, I have no idea what to expect.

The Florida man and Cubans ain't no Democrats.

i'm genuinely hoping they manage to remove today's politics from it entirely.

it’s there, but they aren’t going to make it obvious. Why anyone would see this is beyond me

It would also mean the bad side wins the internal state civil wars they’d have to have first.

I don’t see how blue Texas would survive the red Texas blockade and seige of Austin!

in the thread for the original trailer, there was a map released by A24 which showed it

That map was made by someone on reddit. It was not released by A24.
