I loved it. Made the mistake of watching the movie on a empty stomach...bad choice. I would def recommend this movie to anyone. Feel good movie of the year.
Any thoughts?

I thought it was really well done but the ending kinda threw me off
he hated working for someone else, started his food truck and did his own thing, then in the end, he is back to working for someone else?
I know the guy promised he could do his own thing, but didn't he say that was the original agreement with his previous boss too?

I've watched this movie 20 times now.
I always want a Damn Cuban sandwich after.
Love this movie.

Sofia Vegara and ScarJo FTW!

He didn't really hate working for someone else. I know others said he was unhappy but if you remember the food truck was his last choice after getting rejected by all of his prospects.
In the end he just wanted to cook his way and that's what he got.

till his new boss disagrees with him...

I thought it was kind of corny and predictable, but it wasn't unenjoyable. 3 out of 5.

Think it was portrayed more as a partnership than a boss employee relationship. He said he wanted to invest in his business not buy it if I remember correctly

It was decent enough. That grilled cheese he made his son looked fantastic, and inspired me to always cook grilled cheese in that same way.
It was pretty packed with stars for a movie that wasn't a big budget studio film.

I ran across it on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent movie.

Me and my wife loved it. Jon Favreau is one talented dude.

Saw it twice in the theater. The foodies in the audience ruined the second viewing. They commented on every ingredient and moaned during the cooking scenes like they were watching their first porno.

1st half was food porn. The second half was a coming of age story. Too much swearing to be family friendly and too cute to be anything else. It was essentially Ratatouille with a food truck instead of a rat. If you could be as creative as you wanted, would you stick to making sandwiches?
Could've done without the Robert Downy Jr. Scenes. Why couldn't Sophia Vergara have been independently wealthy and eliminated that part? I liked it but wanted more of the trek across the country. Isn't there any food in New Mexico or Arizona?

Yeah, this.
And the guy is an overweight jerk who has both Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara on his stringer?
I guess you aren't supposed too think to hard about feel good movies but this one seemed somewhat predictable, non-credible, and pretentious; and has an ending that really makes no sense. In the long run he's not going to get along with his new boss any better than his old one.

Yes, I thought it was great.
As others stated, he never really wanted to do the food truck. Yes he wanted the freedom to experiment and do his thing, but he also wanted the prestige and recognition. He wouldn't get that with the food truck. This is why it made sense for him to enter into the partnership with the critic, because it gave him both his freedom as well as the prestige he sought. I also got the impression is was indeed a partnership, not a working for the critic.

Some of y'all's responses are ridiculous.
Great movie.
Only complaint is that they never stated how Sofia was so successful? I mean she had a publicist.
I can overlook her being married to a fat slob in order to let the story move forward. Lol
