Exactly. I like how I was called an insignificant frick and other names in this thread when I've never posted spoilers outside of a reader thread.

I wonder if they even realize their rampant readerphobia and the OMG BAN ALL READERS is what usually ends up prompting some rogue reader douche to post spoilers to begin with.

Exactly. Plus they're so naive they don't even realize they have multiple readers in hiding in their threads posting "educated guesses" every week.

I just had a GOT discussion with my Hodor father. His theories and recap where like watching a What the Flua episode. lol
I wouldn't post a spoiler. Cokes explained it well before, that some readers will "slip" or even purposely try to "show their knowledge" and give out spoilers.
With them not knowing a spoiler from a theory, it's best in a thread about theories and recaps, not to include anyone who knows the direction the show is going in.
I don't know what exactly is going down next Sunday, but I know the plot.
So if I posted a theory, it would most likely be based on my broader interest in the shows' universe.
It's separate but equal. Nothing wrong with a lil segregation.

Also to the above guy who said something about anti-literature. again stop being an idiot, many of the 'non-readers' read plenty of other things but prefer to take in this story in the form of the non-spoiled show.
It's really quite simple, even the smallest clarification or mispelling correction is unwanted in this particular thread.

I RA people I think read, but I don't RA a non-labled spoiler. Because I see them and think they will just be passed over if no one notices.
Like a certain poster early in the am was posting a lot of images and info and one of ours went there to tell him to delete. But by doing so it legitimizes the original post.
See, ignoring his post would in fact be better for the Hodor.
We have a 690 page thread just on our theories of the last two books. Most is crazy and out there.
What's wrong with letting them do the same?
Imagine how shitty it would be if the ending of ASOIAF was spoiled?
So let's read their thread, but discuss their stuff and even our thoughts on spoilers, only in our thread.
Because when it all boils down to it, we are all fans of the same show.

Your threads are alreas derailed by someone jumping on a reader (who yes should not be there) then the reader leaving, then still having 4-5 more people replying to the reader, making it seem like a ton of readers were there, when it wasn't the case.
Like you responded to Amos like five pages after he left the thread the first time. Of course most people who post will always respond to a direct post.
And it happens a few times and gives the appearance of readers all in the thread.
Which happened today. You had Mizzou post and largely be ignored, then Amos posted, and posted again. The was called out five times over five pages.
Had he just been passed over the thread wouldn't derail. So yes, the readers do need to stay the frick out of your thread, BUT you guys need to not overly re-act to a reader posting. RA and be done with it. DO NOT RESPOND DIRECTLY.

Many who have been banned for spoilers typically are back in a few weeks, but I have seen some banned for months.

Kind of.
I post my email for helping people with appliance repair or buying and selling tickets. And then from there communicate with others. Some people on Facebook some on Twitter. Actually a lot on twitter.
It's helpful when you are banned and have people you can bat for.
I have IRL'd a few people too mostly at Fin's or the Bulldog or something.
Seeing someone on mobile is an icebreaker.

It sucks that the site doesn't have an ignore feature to block out the douche bag posters who don't have enough self control to stay out of threads they don't belong in.
If, as a reader, you see someone, posing as a non reader, posting spoilers as their theories, it would be best to just RA the pathetic, little immature twats who need to boost their self esteem by trying to look smart on a message board. By coming in and calling out a particular post, it draws attention to it when it might have just been glanced over by the non readers.
When someone who says they are a non reader pops into the thread one minute after the episode is over with a barrage of
screen shots to support their "theory", its fairly obvious to
everyone, even those of us who are illiterate, that they are a reader, or someone who has taken spoikers, links, etc., from another site because they can't help seeking attention to make up for not being loved enough as a child.
It is unfortunate that a few bad apples have to give the readers, a bad name, when most of them don't cause issues. But it only takes one tool to post a big spoiler and piss everyone off to the point things are now.
