Great show minus Season 5. Ten years from now no one is going to remember Downtown Abbey or other garbage that get awards. Justified will be remembered more fondly. That is to say awards are meaningless.

Every season was excellent except for season 5. Justified was what it was and it didn't try to hide that. That's what made it great.

It's okay but lacks a level of gravitas that the top series usually share. IMO

I haven't completed the series- I've only watched the first two seasons actually- but it is a great show so far imo

"Thas Right...."

My favorite series in over a decade.
I adored it and the many characters.
From Mags to Dewie to Boon to Limehouse to of course the amazing Boyd Crowder. Dozens and dozens and dozens of amazing unique characters that had some amazing development.
There were CERTAINLY some characters and episodes that missed the mark...some by a mile..but overall it is an amazing series that I was sad to see it go.
However, that was ABSOLUTELY the PERFECT ending that most people agree couldn't have been any better

i'll agree with this. the first season was very serial and that was ok. the second season had gravitas and was projecting the show along that path, but it really kind of meandered and was stretched too thin. i will almost guarantee you if they condensed the remaining 4 seasons into 2, it would have done that.

Why the hate for season 5? I thought the Crowes were pretty damn good.

Season 4 was worse to me. Still solid, but the weakest, IMO.

If I ordered the seasons I'd probably go:

2
3
1
6
5
4

I'm really late to the party and sorry to bump an old thread but I've binge watched through season 4 the past few weeks (looking for something to fill the void until Blacklist season 3 goes to Netflix).

I've been blow away with this show. The acting is pretty good (across a wide range of characters) and the dialogue is fantastic. Only season I didn't care for as much was season 3, and it was still pretty entertaining. While it's not perfect they do a pretty good job tying in one season to the next.

I'll have to give this a try. Finished watching The Wire for the first time last night so I could really use a quality show to fill the gap.

Ps: watched the wire because everyone here kept raving about it and it lived up to the hype mostly.

It's too soda pop, IMO. Too trite. Lacking that certain gravitas, better expressed as "OH shite, did that just happen?!?"

Awesome show! It is in my top three. My only complaint is, not enough Choo Choo.
