While I don't think anyone else knows about it, "My Best Friend's Girl" is one of my favorite Rom-Com's. Cook, IMO, is hilarious in that one.

but yeah dane cook is one of many examples (now it's aziz most notably) of comics who sell out to the masses.
female comics who get really successful do the "female issues" sets and it is what the public wants and that's why they get famous. those who really develop it and are somewhat pretty can get tv shows and movies (like shumer, whitney, and i presume soon to be iliza)

I watched my first Iliza Schlinger standup this past weekend and I like some of her jokes, but her "voices" are so annoying that I wanted to turn it off a couple times. Only reason I didn't is because she's hot.

Someone mentioned Kurt Metzger, who is one of her writers. I was not familiar with him until I heard him on a recent WTF podcast with Marc Maron. That dude is funny as hell. Comes from a Jehovah Witness background, which was interesting to hear about.
