Ending was extremely shitty.

Didn't really get the point of the movie though.

i would think the ending would be the LEAST shitty part of the movie, if it was shitty at all. the clip with the two CIA guys was hilarious, and well, francis mcdormand........

Here are just a few that were far far far worse than this one...

Gigli
Battlefield Earth
Day the Earth Stood Still
Catwoman
Ishtar
From Justin to Kelly
Stop or My Mom Will Shoot
Pluto Nash
Leonard Part 6
Caddyshack II
Glitter
Hudson Hawk

You can't tell me that you would rather watch any of that trash before watching Burn again.

I admit it wasn't a great Coen effort, but more rewatchable than the trash above.

Well with time i could put together a much larger list.

Heck I would watch Burn afore Ladykillers. Maybe even Blood Simple although many people love Blood Simple.

Definitely I would watch Burn before rewatching Ladykillers or Intolerable Cruelty.

I guess i am in the minority here, but I LOVED Burn After Reading.

I love the Cohen Brothers, I own everything they have ever done.

They are the masters of making Black comedy or Film Noir pictures. Go back and watch "The Man who Wasn't There, or "Raising Arizona", or even "The Hudsucker Proxy".

They have such a unique way of film making with quirky dialogue and attention to detail you can see it throughout all of their movies, so that when you watch one, you can tell you are watching a Cohen film.

The simple tract shots of people walking down halls or George Clooney stating that he can "get a run in" after each sexual encounter, the perfecty placed photo of Vladimir Putin (sp),and so many other things throughout the movie make it such a Cohen film that if you are a fan, it is a pleasure to watch.

The movie made perfect sense in the fact that nothing the characters did made any sense, as summed up by the CIA chief at the end. The theme trancends to all of America who think they are so important that someone must be following them or just because a memeber of the Government's name is attached to a C.D. that is must be some kind of covert spy intel. It is a lesson that all of us can realize. No one or nothing is that goddamn important. Like Clooney said, "Soon someone will be able to know exactly where you are at all times". We are a paranoid nation now, and apparently no one is safe. That what is funny and satirical about the movie.

I guess it you are not a fan of the black comedy genres then I can see how this movie wasnt for you, but by no means is it a horrible movie, or even the Cohens worst, that title goes to Intolerable Cruelty.

I'm a huge Coen Brothers fan and I can admit this isn't their best effort (though I actually liked Intolerable Cruelty, their worst effort is Ladykillers). I think they went a long way for the final joke of the final scene, which I think was hysterical.

It was just too long to set up. Though I do love their common theme of inept stupidity being ruthlessly crushed by its own, well, inept stupidity. It's a funny version of Fargo. It just wasn't funny enough.

I thought it started kind of slow, but really picked up and I ended up really liking it a lot. Pitt and Malkovich rocked the shite in it.

Finally watched this last night and I enjoyed it. Thought it was very entertaining.

This quote was my exact take on the movie. I knew from the very beginning that Clooney's paranoia was going to define the movie and bring the whole house down. Hell, even Malkovich's opening scene was full of self indulgence and arrogance, "THIS IS POLITICAL" was hilarious when you look back at it and realize that he was just some low level analyst that no one gave a shite about. When the CIA chief asked what his clearance was and the guy said "3" and he just shrugged and said frick it. Awesome. And when he asked what they wanted to do with Clooney when they picked him up trying to fly to Venezuala, and he said "Put him on a fricking plane to Venezuala".

I thought all of that was great and really got the point of the movie across. I even cared about the characters. I felt bad for Tedd, Chad, and even Clooney's wife, although the ending spun that around on its head which was great. Good Cohen Bros flick.

Watched this last night.

In my opinion, probably the biggest misstep for the Coen Brothers thus far. The intended humor was both obvious and subpar. And the actors were completely unrestrained--delivering performances that were all over the map.

Big disappointment.

I watched it a few days ago and thought it was decent to good. My favorite part though:

That was surprising as hell to see Brad Pitt get shot in the head

I also watched it last night and that pretty much sums up my feelings about the movie as well. It's a shame b/c I was pretty pumped about the movie.
