British comedian and guest of the programme Steve Coogan has criticised the programme, accusing it of lazy, adolescent humour and "casual racism".

Stopped watching it when every American car was a bust in Clarkson's eyes - not that I give shite about American cars...but his comments and demeanor always seemed agenda, racist and snide off-comments about America (or anyplace) but British cars.

But worse...they always televised everything with total falsehoods and cut shots - I knew they did this with the Corvette and Viper to make them look like crap.

quote:

The Tesla firm took Top Gear to court for libel and malicious falsehood after it suggested one of its Roadster vehicles had run out of power after only 55 miles. On 19 October 2011, the High Court of Justice in London rejected Tesla's libel claim, claiming the series is an entertainment programme and not an information programme

So because they are entertainment, they have always done these false cuts, lame prop-British anti-world assertions about various countries and total jump cut lies about certain trips and speed limits and road conditions...(35 mph on a Nevada interstate, I don't think so Jeremy) -

And..."only in America do they have Don't walk, and Walk cross lights...because nobody there speaks anything but English, they don't have any exposure to the world like we in Europe do...they are idiots."

I know everyplace I have lived in America...

This has been the image, unless you live in New York City or other huge Metro Cities that tried to copy NYC's Iconic lights.

It would have been a great show if Clarkson's agenda and fake cuts didn't dominate the show...they couldn't just show things as they are...

Its why Chevy refused to ever give them a car again...because no matter how good the car was, they knew the agenda of BBC...and really just Clarkson, who was entertaining but a total xenophobe who unlike Hammond, didn't appreciate anything that wasn't driving a British car in France or Italy.

Still laughing at the claim that Top Gear has 350 million viewers per week.

As soon as he got axed the message boards lit up with everybody claiming to be longtime fans of his. I think the dude's an annoying tool bag.

Top Gear was popular in the Middle East and India. That's where most of the 350 million number comes from.

This. I really dislike that guy. Good concept for a show, but unwatchable.
