Solid episode. Really sucks that there's no AR this season though

would say maybe their decision to take the episode in the direction it did--flashbacks to Nucky's childhood that don't really move the story forward when we have such precious little time left to wrap up so many storylines--is confusing.

Not really. You found out a bit about what makes Nicky tick. Why is he in Cuba? He wants to be first to set up his distribution network. He wants to be ready. How many times did we see him get beat as a child. He wasn't fast enough. Why does he lie, cheat, and steal to get ahead? Flashback gave us insight. He's also had a softspot for most of this series. Compassion towards his dying sister.

Character development is what makes the HBO shows good. These aren't just shoot em up sci fi crap.

Only going to say this once, but this show should have never been a story about Nucky and his protégé and the commodore for the first 2 seasons. It should have been about Prohibition the whole way and involved Chicago, philly, and NYC way more. I still love everything about this show, especially the acting, cinematography, and sets, but the storyline has been lacking.

Nucky said he hadn't seen Meyer since AR's funeral.

Did anyone catch what the other prisoner was talking to Chalky about?

At the end? Something about some money hidden in a house somewhere.

That's actually how it went down IRL. If the rest of it goes down like it did IRL for him, it's gonna be badass to watch.

comparing Godfather to what happened in real life.

Think so? It probably wasn't unheard of after the stock market crash.

its documented many people shot themselves at the office or just mid conversation, stopped walked over to the window and jumped out.

Meyer is a dead little Jew. No way Nuck isn't killing his arse after Cuba.
That would be a major change for the show. They haven't killed an actual historical figure outside of his actual timeline yet.

And Meyer outlives everyone IRL.

they wont change major events of histroy... this show is "based" on actual events.

the thing is the story of Chicago, philly and NYC have been done. Thats why HBO went with the unknown player Nucky Johnson.

Good episode.

For all the series that run too long this one gets cancelled with so much story left to tell.

I heard HBO didn't think they could keep Boardwalk and GoT both going because both have huge per episode costs.

yea they just get too expensive. dont wory they will get something new and cheap and just as good. BE got slow the past 2 seasons IMO. If they had a following like GOT there would be no canceling.

Yea, GoTs just has a life of its own and is HBO's bell cow right now. I trust HBO will put out something quality. I wonder if the leftovers will move to the fall Sunday time slot.

It hit its stride with episode 3. It's been renewed for a 2nd season and got stronger as it went.
