this is one of the worst answers. Lando didn't betray shite. He was running a qusai-legit business when unbeknownst to him an old business associate / friend, who has become a traitor and terrorist, decides to dupe Lando into helping him and his lover escape the authorities, which would make Lando and accessory after the fact to acts of treason and terror., some friend. The government somehow finds out where they are headed and beats them there, forcing Lando to co-operate. Otherwise he faces the loss of his business and possible incarceration.
If anything the government betray's Lando by altering the agreed upon deal.
