I wonder what changed James' mind about winning the HoH. He was telling Nat on Wed that they didn't need to win this one, because he thought that double eviction was coming next week.
But then again, since they brought Victor back, maybe he thinks that DE won't be for another couple of weeks.

I am thinking its a bad move because I don't like that side, but James telling Paulie what Day said is something that strengthened their ties. A legitimate final 6 with the 3 couples could run another 3 evictions. That would assure every couple gets jury house which is always something they want. Paulie is the only one of those 6 that would put winning as a bigger priority. (Natalie too if she were capable of winning)

And Paulie just made a statement to Corey that he wanted to talk to Corey, and they need to pull James into the convo because James is loyal as hell. So I think Paulie sees James as a legit final 4 candidate right now (Corey is definitely his final 2 though), but if they get Frank out this week, then James should still be in a decent spot.
ETA: With that said, I think James should've just thrown this HoH. He was probably in the best position in the house. There was no need to win HoH, except for the fact that Nat could've been a pawn.

James said that is the longest he's stood, for over 5 1/2 hours. So I assume it was an endurance comp to win the HoH.

The difference, though, is this time it is in his best interest at this point in the game to not upset the house. If he would've put up say Paulie & Corey and one went home, James and Nat would be up on the block next week. James would have to hope and pray that Frank or Bridgette would win the HoH, because everyone else (except for Day who ain't winning crap) would be gunning for him.
