When does the cast get announced? Last season was my first season watching (GF got me into it), so not really familiar with the casting part of it. Also..anyone recommend a season to watch in its entirety?

The earlier ones were the best. Everyone today is typecast and generally really stupid. A click forms and it's the most boring shite ever for about 8 weeks straight. I was reluctant to get into it, but then I noticed how fast it makes June and July go and I was hooked. Anything that gets me to football faster can't be all bad.

They need to add more ways for the game and people to turn on each other. Like, more ways for a person that everyone wants to go home to survive and force the people to pick sides. Right now, you get power groups and they control the entire game and very seldom does that strat backfire. If you have enough votes you carry the game and it becomes painfully predictable. I still enjoy the show but i hate basically knowing every week who is going home.

Ok, I'll hook you up with a nice trilogy.

Start with season 2. This introduces Chilltown, and Dr. Will (who most view as one of the top three players in BB history).

Then go to season 6. This is really just to set up the last season of the trilogy.

Then finish with season 7 (which in my opinion is the best season of BB America). It is an all-star season that pits the two person Chilltown alliance against the four person season 6 alliance. You would think that a two person alliance wouldn't be a match for a four person one, but you would be wrong. It's an epic battle that lasts the whole season.

Enjoy that trilogy my friend.

They need to throw in an occasional Platinum Veto where the winner gets to veto someone AND nominate the replacement (except HOH). That would eliminate black door attempts and would prevent anyone from ever feeling completely safe, which is when they suck as players.

Also, to keep them guessing, the actual veto necklace remains covered until after the contest to keep anyone from throwing a competition.

I'm in the same boat as you, started watching last year. I'll be interested in watching this year too.

As one person has mentioned. It really does help the summer go by faster. They should start it this next week though as the late game runs too far into the fall.

Cast goes into house about a week before first show airs, and thats when they announce who is on show.

Season 8 is ok since it is the one with Evil Dick, who basically just bullies the house all year (he is probably a top 5 player imo). But I just said 6 because it actually makes an unintended trilogy (at least I think it is unintended). You could watch season 7 without seeing seasons 2 & 6 and be fine. Season 7 was the best of all of them imo.

You might also want to watch seasons 10 and 14 since they have Dan Gheesling in them. Dr. Will, Dan, and Derrick from last season are the top 3 players, with a pretty big gap to number 4.

It's become too predictable, you get alliances and ride it to the end and no real gameplay goes on.

The twists they introduce makes the game even worse especially when they keep certain house guests alive.

There is definitely too much production interference to keep certain players safe, especially the last 4 or 5 seasons. Last season was almost unwatchable, mainly because of Frankie.

Yeah I've watched for about the last oooooh 6ish years? I'm not a vet like some of yall but I'm familiar with most of the major players.

I have not seen 7 though. I might try to watch...any way I can watch through on demand or netflix or something?

All of these episodes of season 7 are on youtube, or at least they were last year when I did a rewatch of that season.

I've been watching Big Brother Canada the past month. It's not that bad. They only have a $100,000 prize, so production spends way more on comps. They had a triple eviction on one night and a coup d'etat the next week.
