Would break continuity. Nacho was alive and well in one episode of BB. Hell, I think the episode name was "Nacho".

Nacho was never in BB. One of the season one BCS episodes was titled "Nacho"

The theory was the rearranged titles meant Gus would appear in the finale. Now that is supposedly not going to happen, so I added the "(not)".

I'll correct myself, you are right. Nacho was MENTIONED in one episode of Breaking Bad in a way that made it seem he may still be alive.

I haven't been on much since last week...why do we now thing that's not gonna happen?

With as calculated as VG is, it doesnt' make a ton of sense (IMO) to have that anagram be meaningless. Doesn't seem like vince's style.

Saul thinks that it's Nacho that kidnapped him in the Better Call Saul episode of Breaking Bad. For Saul to automatically think of Nacho in that instance, I'm guessing some more stuff will happen between them in Better Call Saul.

Though the Breaking Bad prequel has been quick to bring back both Tuco and, more recently, Hector Salamanca (played respectively by Raymond Cruz and Mark Margolis), evidence is mounting that an appearance by Giancarlo Esposito‘s Gustavo “Gus” Fring was scrapped from Saul‘s Season 2 finale (airing April 18).

In discussing Margolis’ encore as Tio, series creator Vince Gilligan shared that Better Call Saul had “a perfect opportunity for someone [else] from our Breaking Bad universe to show up” during its sophomore finale, but co-creator Peter Gould ultimately decided against it.

I think they were planning on it (from all accounts it looked like it was cut last minute) but they want to sneak him in on their own terms, and the FRINGSBACK easter egg was discovered before they wanted, so they backed out.

I bet the last scene in the finale ends in a Los Pollos Hermanos franchise, just minus Gus for now.

They can use this to a huge advantage IMO. The chicken restaurant alone will allude to Gus every time they use it, and create hype. Then they can come in and blindside us in Season 3 and put Gus in a scene with Mike, somewhere else. (Say, the diner they always use)

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould were just on the Rich Eisen Podcast, confirms the anagram:

They said that "Fans are smarter than they thought." They have not officially signed Giancarlo Esposito to a contract yet but they are hoping to ASAP. They said that means they "can't confirm" that Giancarlo is in season 2. Reading between the lines tells me they got him for one episode and want to sign him long-term.

Maybe he will show up tonight.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, one of the commercials said something to the extent of "BCS goes Bad" which seems to hint at a major player joining.

I am all for Gilligan dragging out and keeping this show going as long as he can, it has been great. However, I hope we get the entire thing before Mike gets too old to finish it out. Would be damn depressing.

you should pay closer attention. Did you see him almost pull his gun on him and tell him that when you bring Cops down on Hector, you bring them down on me?

Furious about the robbery is cartel lieutenant Nacho Varga (Michael Mando), whose fate is intertwined with Mike’s because they conspired to put Tuco behind bars. If the driver identifies Mike, Nacho warns, “that’s bad for both of us.”

“He saw a guy with a ski mask,” Mike says. “That’s it.”

"Calm down and take your hand out that pocket"

Nacho was PISSED and almost pulled a gun on Mike.
