I've never really seen anyone put pet semetary ahead of the shining.

I'm honestly interested in why.

I guess I'm tired because I glanced at the title of the thread and thought, "well, that's a dumb post, everyone knows it's Jack in the Shining."

Then I started reading and realized just how many great characters and scenes there have been from Stephen King based movies.

The hobbling scene in Misery was easily one of the most disturbing things that I have ever scene on film, Bates nailed it.

Shawshank is in my top 5 movies of all time, and every character was excellent. Nod to Freeman and Robbins, in that order.

River Phoenix in Stand By Me was great and, as mentioned, that whole cast was great. I was actually standing on about the spot where he died outside of the Viper Room a few weeks ago.

I'll add a new one, the kid who played Gage in Pet Semetary. "I played with Mommy, now I'm gonna play with you."

Salem's Lot scared the shite out of me when I was a kid, but I can't bring myself to list David Soul.

John Cusack in 1408.

The entire movie was him, and it's a really good movie.

Robbins, Freeman, and Whitmore - Shawshank
Also best movie narration- Morgan Freeman
In Shawshank - EASILY.
Hon.Men. Bates - Misery, Duncan- Green Mile

IMO - Bates, Jack, and River Phoenix are the class here. River Phoenix was awesome in stand by me.

One small step down would be Robbins and Freeman in Shawshank.

Sure it has been said, but Jack Nickolas in The Shinning. The only movie made out of his books that lived up to his writing.
