Just to see how it ends. It's that simple.

But you're not really watching the movie. You're reading the first few chapters of a book and jumping to the end. If you don't like it, turn it off.

Beasts is an extremely slow paced and overrated movie. Here is the best way to view it; turn on the English subtitles and watch it in fast forward.

How ignorant. At least if you are gonna criticize a film give some actual analysis. Not bitch that you were forced to fast forward it and turn the subtitles on.

OK, just warched Beasts of the Southern Wild. Holy crap, what an amazing film. One of the very few films in my life that moved me to tears. It will be hard for the others I mentioned to compare to that.

Also watched Moonrise Kingdom last night. Didn't care for it. It was too quirky (?)/artsy-fartsy for my taste; I guess I just don't care for his directorial style. Definitely not my cup of tea.

I cried in Beasts of the Southern Wild too. Great movie.

Some people just don't like the way WA's movies look. He certainly has a distinct style. I feel the same about David Lynch products. Can't stand them.

I'm going to watch tonight on Directv Cinema. I watched Argo a couple nights ago, and it was pretty awesome. I don't know why people are bitching about the last 20 minutes of the film though. But, that's for another thread. I actually shed a couple tears at the end of Argo. Literally, one tear out of each eye rolled down my cheek.

Watching Perks of Being a Wallflower tonight, and supposed to go see Silver Linings Playbook tomorrow. I'll add Argo to the list.

Most people either love or hate Anderson's style. I'm one of those that love it.

Glad you enjoyed Beasts. Great movie.

I've seen all four now. I'd rank 'em like this:

1 -- Beasts of the Southern Wild (loved it)
2 -- Silver Linings Playbook
3 -- Perks of Being a Wallflower (I grew up in Pittsburgh, and the accents and actions of these students is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off.)
4 -- Moonrise Kingdom (didn't care for this one at all... just thought it was really weird and fantastical... definitely didn't care for the directorial style.)

1. Silver Linings
2. Wallflower
3. Southern Wild (although I dislike it more than most, admittedly)
4. Moonrise Kingdom (felt it missed the mark compared to his usual)

I've only seen Beasts of the Southern Wild. Sad truth is the movie left no lasting impression on me. Really disappointing.

Just saw Perks of Being a Wallflower last night, thought it was really good. Kind of depressing though, thinking about picking up the book now.
