‘Batgirl’ Movie: Joss Whedon to Direct Standalone Film - Updated: Whedon is out

I think the DCEU is turning into the Batman cinematic universe.

They give Joss Whedon 'Batgirl' but Zach Snyder the Justice League stuff.

Hopefully they'll go with the Barbara Gordon Batgirl. But this is so inside Whedon's wheelhouse, I'm good with whatever they decide to do.

He has worked with her before.
His IMDb page is just full of bad arse women characters. This must have been by mistake.
Who produced and wrote The Cabin in the Woods? Lets hire him for Batgirl.

I love Christina Hendricks, but she's pushing 40. She ain't gonna be Batgirl.
Alyson Hannigan is probably kicking herself that time travel doesn't exist. Of course, she has all that "How I Met Your Mother" money to comfort her.
I dunno. Can Karen Gillian do a decent American accent? Or is she a little too old? And is the fact that she's in Guardians of the Galaxy a deal-breaker because of likely non-compete stuff?

Gives me a little more hope for the Wonder Woman movie. If they're looking to do additional superheroine films, I'm guessing that they have a positive attitude towards what they've seen with the WW movie.

So... JLA is just forming, there is a Batgirl running around, but Batman doesn't ask her to join the team?
If this is Barbara Gordon I guess that means The Killing Joke hasn't happened even though leading into BvS Batman has withdrawn from the world b/c of his grief caused by those around him getting hurt? Or I guess it's really only Robin that was killed causing him to give up crime fighting? frick me. This is becoming just as stupid as Batman quitting in the Nolan verse b/c he was sad Rachel Dawes dies.
Once again this is why it was fricking stupid to start out with an old Batman in a universe that seems like it had no heroes other than an emo quitting arse Bats before Supes shows up.

Joss is already working on the sequel as well....mostly because it will be basically the same movie
