Affleck is still on board to play the superhero, but sources close to the talent said Affleck and Warner Bros., after discussing how to best make the film possible, came to the decision together. “There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Does good news ever come out about the DC movies?
Next thing you know, Kevin Smith will suddenly be directing this.

Nice to know I don't have to get excited about this movie

I mean, the string of bad news is ridiculous, but I wouldn't be worried about this if they find the right person.
Just please not Snyder. Or Goyer.

Why? Have you read the reviews for Live By Night? They just need to find a new Batman.

He'd probably do a pretty good job IMO.
Could this be the result of Affleck bombing on his latest movie?

Doubt it.
Affleck didn't bomb as much as the studio releasing it in the dumping ground that is January.
I don't think it would have been profitable anytime of year, but not the financial disaster it turned out to be.
But seriously, does any director want to put their name on any of this DC garbage? They got filmmakers apologizing for them now.

If the early buzz on Wonder Woman is negative they're gonna have to back up the money truck at Christopher Nolan's house and make him say no. He'll get full creative control, a cut of ticket sales, whatever he wants.

Kevin Smith would do just fine with a Batman feature film. The two episodes of The Flash he directed were great as was the episode of Supergirl he directed

What do you mean about to get stomped??? They've been doing it for years....this just shows that the trend will continue.

Please he squatted down and delivered a huge turd. You think putting that up against competitive action movies in action movie season was the answer? It would have bombed worse.

I don't think he could do worse than Snyder has. A comic book nerd like Smith would at least stay true to Batman.
