At 9:15 C. Probably the most visually stunning and beautiful film ever made.

I haven't seen it in years, but it's also one of the most pessimistic. If memory serves me?

Not to say that's a bad thing, pessimism.

I wouldn't call it pessimistic per se, but it is a work of epic tragedy more than anything. Barry was on his way but he was a scoundrel and a scoundrel's fate he ultimately suffered.

Is Ryan O'Neal supposed to be good in this? Because I feel like I'm watching Keanu in Bram Stoker's Dracula

Kubrick actors often have cold performances, especially if they're not extremely talented like George C Scott or Jack Nicholson.

I also think O'Neal was kind of thrust on the film because it wouldn't get made without a big star (which O'Neal was in 1975). I don't think Kubrick had him as his first choice.

None of you film experts ever warned me about this gay kissing scene.

Subtle lines like the British ambassador named O'Grady and the narrator saying how much of a whore the German girl was is priceless.

Lyndon was supposed to be a sensuous, ambitious flawed oaf which O' Neal personifies but it would be interesting to have seen a more nuanced actor in the role. Nevertheless its Kubrick's most enthralling film.

It's weird to think that there was a time when O'Neal was taken seriously.

I don't care how wronged the step-son was for O'neil squandering his inheritance.

I hated that brat. Barry should have taken him out. All the kid cared about was what he lost instead of what he could gain by work.
