Bad Boys bait and switch...

Anyone else get excited when they are cruising the channels and see Bad Boys listed (and it's on every freaking day on some channel), only to find that it's the Martin Lawrence/Will Smith movie and not the '83 flick with Sean Penn/Esai Morales/Ally Sheedy ?
I loved that movie and get excited any time I come across the title. And it's always the wrong one.

Have you seen the Sean Penn movie. Easily the best performance of his younger days. Great movie.

I'd get pissed if turned out to be the Sean Penn movie.

No I didn't know it was a Sean Penn movie.
I thought this was going to be about how Dana Carvey was supposed to be the star originally.

The Bad Boys with the young Kurgen from Highlander? I'll watch that over the Fresh Prince/Marteen movie any day of the week.

[spinoff]
I get pissed when I set my DVR for It Takes a Thief, and instead of the 1960's Robert Wagner series it gives me a how-to show on how to keep your house from getting broken into.
I get pissed when the channel guide says Avengers, and it's the Uma Thurman movie.
I get pissed when I see The Longest Yard listed and it's the Adam Sandler remake.

Oh I 'member. First time I saw the pillowcase full of cans trick.
The one that gets me is wanting Poltergeist with powermilf Jobeth Williams and getting the dog vomit remake.

I like Bad Boys II more than the first one. Is that weird?

Yes - the recipient of the pillowcase full of cans.

The second one's awesome. I can't wait to pull the daughter's first date routine that they do in that one too.

Im with you.
Bad Boys from 1980s is a great, gritty movie with an outstanding performance from Sean Penn and the rest of the cast.
1980s Bad Boys is a masterfully prepared filet while Will Smith/Martin Lawrence Bad Boys is whipped cream from a can.
Two totally different movies and when I see Bad Boys in the guide I always have a glimmer of hope and an expectation of disappointment. I'm usually always disappointed.

The one that gets me is Blown Away. I always hope it will be the one with a nude Nicole Eggert, but it's always the crappy one with Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones.
