Damnit. I wish the sisters had been cast opposite of each other because Sara is easily my favorite actress on the show. Definitely the hottest (hair down felicity is second)

Want to float a theory by you guys, it might sound stupid at first but hear me out.
I think Tommy was the one that killed Sara. Sounds impossible right? What if Ras' al Ghul got to Tommy before he was completely dead and used the Lazarus Pit to restore him?
Why would Ras do that though? To use him as a weapon against Merlyn and possibly Oliver too if he knows the Arrow's identity. We know the Lazarus Pit drives you temporarily insane what if Ras used that to twist Tommy into a killer, Ras has been described by the producers as kind of a snake that whispers in your ear.
Why would Ras send Tommy to kill Sara? Maybe he's still pissed that she left the LoA the first time and when she returned she wouldn't kill anymore. Maybe it was to punish Nysaa for helping the Arrow save Starling City.
I know what you're about to say, "It was Komodo that killed Sara, he's shown in the next episode preview". We do know that Komodo is in the next episode, but he could be a red herring. The producers said they wanted to add in an over arching mystery to the season like they had in season 1, if that mystery is a "who done it" then they wont just end it in episode 2.
You know who else shows up in episode 2 though? Tommy, in flashbacks. I think its too big of a coincidence that he shows up in an episode where Team Arrow is hunting for the assassin that killed their friend. He's Oliver's first target that Amanda Waller wants killed when Oliver starts working for ARGUS. We know the flashbacks constantly mirror the present, what if Tommy is in the same situation that Oliver was in, working as an assassin for a higher power?
Maybe I'm just over thinking this though...
tl;dr I miss Tommy

Introduced Ray Palmer, we get the name of the city changing to Star City, Roy is in full Red Arrow gear (and kicking arse), both Arrows are working as a slick team, a Wildcat Easter Egg, a Flash cameo, we get some Felicity hotness AND a death. It's no wonder this episode seemed short.

it is a bit of a stretch but its plausible. also interesting they would bring tommy back into the story via flashbacks. usually when that happens, that character is reappearing in some way.
idk how i would feel about it if this did come true. seems a bit of a stretch and odd. but its not impossible.

I get that a lot of people would think that it would cheapen his death from Season 1, but I dont really see it that way. He's still the catalyst for Oliver transforming into the hero he is today.
If a combination of the Lazarus Pit and Ras' manipulations turned him into a killer he would basically become the worst version of Oliver, it would be a fun trip to see Oliver try to remind him of the man he was and to see Tommy emerge from his own crucible like Oliver.

I proposed this after the season 1 finale.
We will see Tommy again. Book it.

what would be the end game? tommy comes to his senses? then that really fricks up the merlyn/thea storyline. would tommy join team arrow? that doesnt sound like a good dynamic. plus how does laurel deal with all of it?
does he die again and soap opera it up?
while the idea of tommy returning in the way you described does sound like a cool story, the end game ruins it for me. hes better off dead.

That is interesting. I'm not sure I'd like it though. They already brought Merlyn back from the dead. Not sure how I feel about them doing it again.

I really should have explained the entire theory, but that would have taken a really long time.
I think I implied everything would happen this season, which is my bad. I envisioned Tommy's arch taking place over several season, with Tommy becoming the Dark Archer after Malcolm bites the dust this season. Free from Ras' controle but still more than a little messed up in the head he spends season 4 as the Dark Archer before Laurel/Oliver finally break through to him and Season 5 see's him trying to find his place in the world and reconciling all the bad shite he's done. If they do end the series at the end of Season 5 like they initially planned then I can see Oliver suffering serious injuries in the series finale, causing him to retire and Tommy will take up the mantle of Green Arrow. Oliver, Digg (if he doesnt become the DCTVU version of John Stewert, which I really want) and Felicity all take on a mentor role to a new generation of heroes that emerge because of Oliver and Barry.
All of which leads us to a Static Shock series...

Just a few tidbits from an interview today:
-That scene with Diggle did mean he's leaving Team Arrow.
-Sara will still be in 2 more episodes (flashbacks/dead body)
-Ray Palmer will not shrink on Arrow (possibly on the flash)
-We see some of Thea's story next week
-They also mentioned tommy's death in the same vein as Sara's and Moira's, which makes me think hes not coming back.

At some point, Laurel has to get the "Canary Cry". I wonder if the crossover might expose her to the meta energy?

i mean sara had that device. i would imagine itd be the same deal

I think I saw someone say that they were going to try to keep the super power type stuff to The Flash, so I doubt they'll go that route

Man that was a strong episode.
Routh was great.
Saw Ted Grant in the ring!
Another Ferris Aircraft sign! Teasing us with GL!
Team Arrow is awesome in action.
Killer ending.

What a good episode. Losing Sara sucks big time, but it's a powerful death for the narrative arc. Hard to be upset about it when everything in terms of the story hits a bullseye.
