He could be operating an illegal fight club called "The Lutus" which Ollie breaks up. When he sees the Arrow, he exclaims, "Jupiter's cock!"

I have so many boners right now

But on a serious note, I hate/love what they did with felicity. They turned her into a gold digging bitch who can easily be bought...aka every woman.

I love that they are showing this but I hate that it has to be felicity.

Just finished the episode. Felicity sucks.

Yep. He said that the mine that he just bought contained dwarf star matter, which is what he uses in the comics to shrink. Plus the electronic file with the suit's design had the word "atom" in it (I can't remember the full name of the file).

Not only did Oliver shun her this season, but he was tagging Sara (and Isabel) all last season knowing that Felicity had feelings for him. Oliver ain't got the right to say a darn thing about Felicity going after Ray.

And my biggest problem with Oliver/Felicity is this. They had to make them a thing because of the fans. However they cant have them actually be a thing and stay within the universe. So they are creating strife where there isnt. No girl is going to walk away that fast and that hard. Randomly deciding "I want more from life" is one thing. But abruptly walking away from a man she loves, who wants to be with her, and she knows loves her, is not reality. Oliver also isnt going to almost lose her like he did in S3E4 and not directly tell her how he feels. Which actually, he already did, he told her to not ask him to say he didnt love her. It means he loves her. The writers are having to push them apart. Whereas their chemistry made it feel natural to bring them together, it is very forced pulling them apart. I could go on. No need to write a novel though.

TL:DR version: They are forcing the split between them, abruptly, for the sake of the story. Using non realistic relationship means to accomplish it.

1. I like that we all call Palmer "Shaw" instead.

2. Is Capt Boomerang not a really lame villain?

3. I like the idea of Oliver and Felicity but I've felt it was something they forced in the first episode just because fans reacted to it so well in the s2 finale when Oliver tricked Slade.

My major problem with tonight's episode: fertilizer is NPK, not NPP. They got the terms right in that it is nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (potash), but K is the symbol for potassium.

eta: It made it worse that Felicity was the one explaining it since she's so intelligent.

Loved the episode, thought Cupid was just the right mix of batshit crazy and oddly endearing. I liked the fact that Oliver decided to go have dinner at Dig's instead of going out to kick the crap out of some bad guys when he walked in on Felicity and Ray macking. Little stuff like that shows how much Oliver has come since the first season.

I also enjoyed the flashbacks more this week but I'm still hoping there is some bigger picture here I'm just not seeing with the flashbacks. I dont know if they're just linked thematically with whats going on the the present day (like season 1) or if the plot in Hong Kong will tie in directly with the present day plot (like in season 2).

I'm really looking forward to the crossover episodes in two weeks but I'm also ready for the midseason finale where hopefully all the plot lines theyve been building in the early season start to really take shape and we see the bigger picture of how the season will play out.

caught the episode very late due to work. easily one of the best episodes this season minus the first one. maybe because laurel wasnt in it?

so there was A LOT going on here.

1) the horse head on the NPP i think is a clear hint to Maxwell Lord and checkmate. yes, it was fertilizer which comes from horse shite. however, the print and image they used is pretty much the exact logo for Checkmate. Think Bamatab is dead on with Maxwell Lord being Felicity's dad or being involved.

2) The Cupid character is clearly Green Arrows version of Harley Quinn. Obsessed lover drawn to insanity to join the other. Also, they almost directly make the connection at the end with her joining the squad and Diggle relaying the message that shes even crazier than the last chick the squad had (harley).

3) Oliver being called an "outsider" in the flashbacks i think is a hint at the
Outsiders team being formed. Katana is a member of it and I think that as Smallville had its "League," Arrow will have the Outsiders.

4) Roy still sucks. Seriously. Can he get any more worthless?

Oh they also have no fricking idea what to do with Thea. I give up hoping she has a cool arc.

Boomerang seems legit. Take note, this is how to do it. Not Will Smith.

I totally missed the horse head emblem on the fertilizer. I'll have to go back and look for it.

I may have been hearing things, but I could've sworn that Katana's sword made some sort of whistling noise when she was interrogating that triad dude. I doubt they'd go the Soul Taker route on Arrow, but I wondered if it was an Easter egg for the comic readers (unless I was just hearing things).

Okay, bare with me people I'm about to let loose one of my crazy theories.

I'm almost positive now that we're getting a time skip after the mid season finale. Nothing super long but maybe 2-3 months.

Laurel still needs more training before it's even remotely plausible that she could be a vigilante.

Ray is gonna need time to build his ATOM exo suit

Roy is gonna need time to perfect his parkour flips

Why the time skip though? Because Oliver is either abducted by or willingly joins (to keep Ras' from destroying his friends/city) the League of Assassins.

We know that Oliver has a sword fight with someone on top of a snowy mountain in the midseason finale. Whats located in a snowy mountain range? Nanda Parbat, home of the LoA. The midseason finale is also called "The Climb".

The first episode of the 2nd half of the season is called "Left Behind" which I think refers to his city/friends who have had to deal with him being gone. Explains why Laurel takes up the BC mantel so quickly because its out of necessity with only Roy and Dig left to protect the city.

One of the biggest issues I have with this show is how quickly everyone develops super assassin fighting/shooting ability. Even Oliver's ability as an archer is unbelievable at this point of the flashbacks.

The last time we saw Oliver using a bow in the flashbacks was when he was assailing the Amazo, he was competent with the bow but he wasn't the top caliber archer he is in the present day. Hell they even made a point of showing him missing on his first attempt to light the signal fire.

Roy was always a brawler and you have to assume he's been training with Oliver and Dig for almost half a year, and he still gets his arse kicked on a regular bases.

Laurel got her arse kicked the one time she tried being a vigilante.

The only real instance of someone becoming a super assassin in a short amount of time is Thea and we still dont know the extent of her fighting abilities.

Or maybe Ra's gets a hold of a certain kid (whose name turns out to be Conner), which forces Oliver to join? I'm probably going way out on a limb with that one. But there is suppose to be that big reveal in the Flash crossover that fans have apparently been asking about for a while (Oliver's kid is the only thing that I can think over that hasn't already been revealed).

I looked up the synopsis of "The Climb", and the official one just says that Dinah comes back for the holidays. But the IMDB synopsis says "Oliver is at the bottom of the ladder in a battle between his friends and family, and the dark one. Will he be able to make the climb?".

I hadn't thought of that, could be a possibility.

I still think the title is a literal one though
