I came here to post this. An homage to that Goodfellas scene.

Touch of Evil opening scene is a good one.

Has anyone seen Russian Ark? The entire movie is one continuous 90 minute shot following an unnamed character through the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. Very impressive movie, its on Netflix.

Alfred Hitchcock did something similar in Rope. I think he did the film in long takes.

A while back in a similar appreciation thread, I mentioned the Boogie Nights pool party shot and a poster (I can't remember or I'd credit him/her) enlightened me that it was a nod to a remarkable shot from Soy Cuba

You leaving out the It's Always Sunny bar inspection episode???

Making Birdman look like a 4th grader's class project

The episode is called "Charlie Work".

It's one of the very few episodes of any show that I know by name.

It is the masterpiece of this kind of shooting.

The first take made it only 15 minutes in before they had to start over. The second take went all the way through. It took six months of rehearsals to do.

I recommend watching it just as a feat of theatrical production, and the symbolism of the film is iconic as well. Brilliant conceptual piece. Won many awards.

You just have to find the version with English subtitles.

Quarry puts a fairly long take in every episode, and they actually have a section on the website that shows each long take and has the director break it down:

This was the tracking shot that made me a John Woo fan back in the nineties
