Anyone here ever watch "Hey Arnold?"

Apparently they're making a new movie that picks up where the series finale left off and tells the story of what happened to Arnold's parents. LINK
I've always thought it was an incredibly unique show. There are some astonishingly bad episodes, but some really good ones as well. It seemed to deal with issues that were way more serious and mature than what a kid's show normally depicts, especially when it came to the episodes about Helga's family (her alcoholic mother, her overshadowing sister, her greedy father, etc.) I look forward to this movie! 90s nickelodeon was the best.

According to Instagram, the movie is titled, Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie and will resume where the original series left off—with the title character finding a map that could reveal the whereabouts of his long-lost parents. The cliffhanger ending aired in 2002, and Nickelodeon planned to conclude the series with a subsequent movie that would’ve featured Arnold finally solving the mystery of what happened to his mom and dad—who only appeared on the show in flashbacks.

Helga really was a great character that you wouldn't find in today's kids shows. Now it's mostly sunshine and rainbows instead of harsh realities. Helga's life was the life of many people growing up in abusive households. They didn't sugar coat it. She was clearly traumatized and really one of the more accurate portrayals in a kids show that dissected this.
Didn't care so much for Arnold himself, but I liked everything that went on around him. It was a good show that taught kids good lessons.
Also without question had the best Christmas Special of any Nickelodeon show. It was really a tear jerker.

It was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. Definitely in my top five from Nickelodeon.

It wasn't as good as most Nickelodeon shows. I watched it occasionally.

It was no "Rocko's Modern Life" or "Ren and Stimpy" (who didn't really miss at all), but I thought it was better than say "Doug". It kind of felt like Doug Take 2, and the characters were a lot better as a result.

Loved the show. The music is really, really underrated; it was an eccentric show without getting too heady for its audience.

I always enjoyed it. Nick went to shite and stopped making thoughtful shows. Even rugrats had clever humor.

Is this a real question? I don't know a single person my age that hasn't watched it.

That show was the shite back in the day, I remember when the first movie came out and my friend had a big arse poster for it in his room.

Boom. I watched Hey Arnold & Rocket Power every single day

I never enjoyed Rocko as much as others seemed to, although "turn the page, wash ya hands" is forever burned in my memory.
In no particular order I liked Arnold, ahh real monsters, angry beavers, rugrats, rocket power,Doug, Kablam, etc.

I sold a comic book series back in elementary based on a similar Arnold character

I'm legitimately interested to see where the movie plot goes. A lot of Arnold's identity was wrapped up in not knowing his parents.

Helga had an alcoholic mother
The border house had:
Physically Abuse relationship
Uneducated construction worker
Illegal alien
Illiterate foreigner
Dementia grandmother
The neighborhood had bullies and nerds and weirdos and bikers and everything.
The show was a unique slice of real life with good lessons taught to kids in interesting ways.
If you put that show on today id imagine feauxoutrage parents and sjw would cry for it to be banned because it's too real.
One of the greatest kids cartoons of all time.

Will gladly watch.
Give me a channel that plays Ren & Stimpy, original Rugrats, Rocko, Angry Beavers, & Hey Arnold on a loop & I'd be a happy guy.
Throw in Salute Your Shorts & The Adventures of Pete & Pete while we're at it.
