Yeah... They care a lot about having "interesting" stories for the q&a after the first commercial break. In the group I was in one chick has a perfectly sequenced DNA molecule tattooed on her foot, another had skinny dipped in every state in the contiguous US, and my buddy that made it started a pee-wee football team in London. I didn't really have anything cool to talk about.

omg I've thought about that a ton. Not that I'd ever actually be on jeopardy, but when they did the interview I feel like all I'd really bring to the table is "uhhh, well.....I go to a ton of college football games?"

It seems to me that most people don't realize that buzzer skill is probably literally 75%

I've heard from people that were on it that buzzer timing is 95% of the game.

Wow! I definitely would not have guessed that they filter for lack of personality.

Trebek talked about this in his The Nerdist interview a few months back.

Just from reading online and shite, tons of contestants say that the knowledge aspect is huge and if you are the best of the best, you may squeak by with no personality.

Other than that, they all mention to remember that first and foremost, you are auditioning to be on a gameshow that is put on television

I tried out for college Jeopardy in 2003 when they had auditions in New Orleans. They gave a test of 50 questions and I think you could only miss 2 or 3 to get to the next round. I missed "where was Yale" (the site for that year) and who wrote "The Jungle". I will never forget the answers to those to questions for the rest of my life now. I'm sure there were a couple more but can't recall.

Back in the day when you had to be a college student for facebook and it wasn't THHAAAAATTTTT huge yet, I remember matt stafford under his interets or about me or whatever the hell section it was...the only thing there was a quote about the Jungle. I'm quite sure it was just in jest and there as a joke but for some reason I remember that

I also remember he was the first person I knew of to max out on friends. He got to 5,000 like his first week on campus and after that his counter wouldn't go about 5K anymore.

No, but I met this guy while I was trying out for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

A friend of mine actually won it.

I'm smarter than him. I just don't have his motivation. Or his million dollars.
