Had pretty much given up after first season. Barry and his wife sucked at life.

This season has been solid though, focusing on Jamal and his wife who are great and enjoying the ISIS (Caliphate) storyline.

Definitely an improvement on season 1. I still hate Barry's wife and kids though.

I tapped out in the second to last episode of the first season. It started great but they made every scene unnecessarily tense. The boat gift was the final straw when you though the main guy was going to be whacked by his brother. Is there more of the same of that sort of unnecessary tension?

I wish they would just do away with his storyline. Now he's going to blow his inheritance funding terrorism to save a guy that polished his knob one time.

Me and the wife still watch it and I like the ISIS storyline this season. I'm on the I hope they throw Barry's son off a building team also. I would like to see Barry snap and start wrecking shop.

Having the wife and son go back to Abbudin to argue for his inheritance is absolutely implausible. As far as they know their husband/father was just put to death by the very people challenging them. And to go back with an American lawyer who has no understanding of the judicial system over there just adds to the absurdity. Seemed like his entire legal attack stemmed from the inability of a father to transfer sin to a son. Ridiculous.

No chance they could possibly win in an Abbudin court. Of course the equally implausible storyline of the gay kid sponsoring terrorism in order to save his swarthy squeeze may have them prevailing.

Kept hoping it'd be the story of Barry coming in with all these noble ideals and then piece by piece becoming a monster-- like Walter White's journey but as a leader turning into a dictator.

Also the gay son thing was such an obvious cliche-- I mean if they'd gone with the daughter at least it would have made the whole "I don't want to go..." thing better why on Earth does a gay teenager willingly want to travel to the Middle East-- that was fricking insane.

Really thought this was where it was going from jump. Would have been a nice spin.

This is far better than the 1st season. They might have saved the show this season

Bassam will end up the true tyrant, mark my words. He's like the Michael of the family to Jamal's Sonny. Having led the "good" resistance will make it all the more poignant.
