Looking for anything other than a chick flick that the wife and i can watch. Seen most of the blockbusters. Is there a film you can recommend that far exceeded expectations? Drama, action, horror , no porn .

1. Moon
2. Her
3. Nightcrawler

If I go back further than five years, I'd say:

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, one of my all-time favorite fantasy films. A gorgeous young Uma Thurman, Robin Williams in a small role as the King of the Moon (uncredited), and just cool fun. Heard it was hell to make, but was edited and put together spectacularly.

I'll second Nightcrawler.
Gyllenhall was creepy in that and did a great job.
